Khan has long stated his intention to launch tag titles for AEW’s women’s talent with a tournament, but has said the concept has been delayed in recent months due to injuries.
“I would like to do AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship,” Khan said back in July. “To have that, I really think we do need to have a healthy division that can maintain these championships, because we haven’t been able to sustain that.”
The tag titles were the major announcement teased for this week’s episode of Dynamite, a reveal that was first teased last weekend at All Out.
