Sami Zayn will hold an open challenge for the U.S. Championship on Friday Night SmackDown.
For the fourth week in a row, Zayn is set to defend the championship on SmackDown after defending against John Cena, Rey Fenix, and Carmelo Hayes.
Tonight’s show in Orlando will also see Cody Rhodes appear after defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza. Rhodes is set to face Seth Rollins in a Champion vs. Champion match at Crown Jewel on October 11 in Perth, Western Australia.
WrestleTix lists over 9,000 tickets distributed at the Kia Center in Orlando, as of Friday morning. The last televised WWE event at the venue was an August 16, 2024, edition of SmackDown with Pollstar listing attendance of 13,694 and a gate of $1,000,729.
SmackDown also features Tiffany Stratton defending the Women’s Championship in a three-way match with Jade Cargill and Niz Jax.
Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer will be on the show to watch the title match and face the winner at Crown Jewel.
Rounding out the list of announcements is a tag match as U.S. Champion Giulia teams with Kiana James against B-Fab & Michin.
