There’s no shortage of wrestling to choose from this weekend, including a hectic Friday night where nearly every major U.S. wrestling brand will be turning in a live event to consider watching. If you don’t know what’s airing this weekend and want to decide what you’ll give your time and money to, here’s this week’s curated list of events available on TV and streaming!
Friday
NJPW World Tag League Night 11 / 4 a.m. ET / NJPW World
NJPW’s World Tag League will resume this weekend with a pair of events, beginning with a card on Friday evening in Osaka. (This card had already taken place by the time this story was published, but is available via replay on NJPW World).
Just six of the eight teams in the A Block remain in the hunt to advance past the tour’s Round Robin play. Friday’s card will be headlined by two of the more promising squads thus far from the A-side: The Bullet Club & ex-Los Ingobernables de Japon duo of Gabe Kidd and Yota Tsuji, as well as the decorated, multi-time Tag League winners Bishamon (YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto). Expect a 20-or-so-minute epic between those two to close out the night.
- El Phantasmo, Hiroshi Tanahashi & Katsuya Murashima vs. Callum Newman, Great-O-Khan & Jakob Austin Young
- Alex Zayne, Lance Archer & Zane Jay vs. OSKAR, Yuto-Ice & Daiki Nagai
- Hartley Jackson, Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr. vs. David Finlay, Gedo & Hiromu Takahashi
- Shoma Kato, Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura vs. Ren Narita, SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru
- Satoshi Kojima & Taichi vs. Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi (A Block)
- El Desperado & Shuji Ishikawa vs. Don Fale & EVIL (A Block)
- Boltin Oleg & Toru Yano vs. Drilla Moloney & Shingo Takagi (A Block)
- Gabe Kidd & Yota Tsuji vs. Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI (A Block)
ROH Final Battle / 7 p.m. ET / ROH Honor Club
There’s an absurd amount of wrestling taking place on Friday night, honestly. If you watch wrestling from America, there are four different options all taking place this evening, and at least one will likely pique your interest.
Getting things started at 7 p.m. will be ROH, presenting its fifth and last special event of the year, Final Battle.
Live from the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, Friday’s lineup is full of some incredible in-ring talent and, if past ROH live shows from earlier this year have shown, could deliver some Match of the Year contenders.
The ROH World Championship has been something of an impressive side-project this year for Bandido, defending it while also working alongside Brody King on AEW programming and doing his dates in Mexico as well. With lengthy battles against Mascara Dorada, Hechicero, Konosuke Takeshita and Chris Jericho over the past few months, Bandido has strung together a solid list of matches this year.
However, Bandido’s reign seems arguably more at risk than ever this weekend when he steps into a six-way Survival of the Fittest Match, battling it out against Hechicero, Komander, The Beast Mortos, Sammy Guevara, and Blake Christian.
So many other notable matchups to discuss here: Athena will try to keep her 1,091-day reign alive against CMLL’s Persephone, TV champ Mercedes Moné will meet Red Velvet in a rematch, and Ricochet will defend his AEW National Championship for the first time ever against Dalton Castle.
Personally, I’m most excited to see what ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty and Nigel McGuinness will present in their 30-minute Iron Man match. Here’s the full bout order:
- Nigel McGuinness vs. Lee Moriarty (30-Minute Iron Man Match)
- Adam Priest & Tommy Billington vs. Sammy Guevara & The Beast Mortos (Vacant ROH World Tag Team Championships)
- Deonna Purrazzo vs. Billie Starkz (Vacant ROH Women’s Pure Championship)
- Carlie Bravo, Shane Taylor & Shawn Dean vs. Dante Martin, Darius Martin & Scorpio Sky (ROH World Six Man Tag Team Championships)
- Ricochet vs. Dalton Caslte (AEW National Championship)
- Mercedes Moné vs. Red Velvet (ROH Women’s World Television Championship)
- Athena vs. Persephone (ROH Women’s World Championship)
- Bandido vs. The Beast Mortos vs. Hechicero vs. Sammy Guevara vs. Komander vs. Blake Christian (Survival of the Fittest Match) (ROH World Championship)
WWE Friday Night Smackdown / 8 p.m. ET / USA Network
The long-awaited reveal of John Cena’s final opponent will take place this evening when Friday Night Smackdown heads to the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
LA Knight and Gunther, finalists in the 16-man “The Last Time is Now Tournament,” will face off this evening to see who will get to retire Cena on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Gunther has especially been a stand-out part of the tournament thus far, with his matchups against Je’Von Evans and Solo Sikoa being really strong showings.
No matter who wins tonight, Cena will be getting a first-time matchup when he steps into the ring for his final match in a little over a week. We’re just hours away from finding out who specifically will head to Washington, D.C. in a little over a week for the big match.

TNA Final Resolution / 9 p.m. ET / TNA+
TNA Wrestling’s newsworthy year, full of massive headlines both inside and outside of the ring, will wrap up on Friday night with “Final Resolution” in El Paso, Texas. The final live event in 2025 from the company comes after a few weeks which have highlighted the two main stories for TNA this year: At-times controversial booking decisions, but significant growth for the business nonetheless.
Final Resolution is taking place just days after TNA announced that their main show, Impact, will air on AMC beginning in 2026. But, this evening is also the first title appearance from Frankie Kazarian, a world champion who dethroned Mike Santana last month in a move which received significant scrutiny from viewers and critics alike.
Kazarian will be defending his title in the El Paso County Coliseum against The System’s JDC, who revealed his retirement plans recently. In hopes of putting together one last run before calling his in-ring career quits in January, JDC will take a shot at the world champ.
The show will also include the first appearance from TNA Knockouts World Champion Lei Ying Lee since she earned the title last month at NXT Gold Rush. She’ll be defending against teammate Xia Brookside.
An underrated matchup here is the eight-man tag bout between The Rascalz and Order Four, in my opinion. Both squads have put on really great multi-man bouts during recent TNA events (coincidentally both against The System), and I have a feeling they can tear the house down again tonight, if given enough time.
- Dezmond Xavier, Myron Reed, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz vs. Mustafa Ali, Jason Hotch, John Skyler & Special Agent 0
- Charlie Dempsey vs. Mike Santana
- Matt Cardona vs. Mance Warner (Street Fight)
- Cassie Lee & Jessie McKay vs. Tessa Blanchard & Victoria Crawford (TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championships)
- Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs. Tyriek Igwe & Tyson Dupont (TNA World Tag Team Championships)
- Steve Maclin vs. Channing Lorenzo (TNA International Championship)
- Leon Slater vs. AJ Francis (TNA X-Division Championship)
- Lei Ying Lee vs. Xia Brookside (TNA Knockouts World Championship)
- Frankie Kazarian vs. JDC (TNA World Heavyweight Championship)
Saturday
WWE NXT Deadline / 7 p.m. ET / Peacock
A rematch that has been built up for the past month on NXT programming will finally take place tomorrow night as part of Deadline from the Boeing Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The long-awaited meeting between NXT Champion Ricky Saints and former titleholder Oba Femi will get things started when Deadline goes live on Saturday evening. Saints ended “The Ruler’s” 263-day reign of dominance with the belt back in September. Now, with many speculating that Femi is ready for the main roster call-up, he gets one more chance to earn the title back and avenge his biggest loss to date.
The main attraction of the night will be NXT’s annual Iron Survivor Challenge matchups, five-way Iron Man-esque clashes to determine who gets a shot at the brand’s top titles at New Year’s Evil in early 2026. Both bouts look like they could steal the show, with some of NXT’s best current in-ring names (Leon Slater, Je’Von Evans, Jordynne Grace, and Sol Ruca, to name a few) all in the mix.
Here’s how the show looks:
- Ricky Saints vs. Oba Femi (NXT Championship)
- Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley
- Ethan Page vs. Mr. Iguana (NXT North American Championship)
- Jordynne Grace vs. Sol Ruca vs. Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Kendal Grey (2025 Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match)
- Joe Hendry vs. Myles Borne vs. Leon Slater vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dion Lennox (2025 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Match)
AEW Collision / 8 p.m. ET / TNT
The Continental Classic will be the main focus when a live episode of AEW Collision airs on Saturday night. Three matchups from the Blue League will take place tomorrow in Columbus, Ohio, including a matchup between IWGP World Champion Konosuke Takeshita and former AEW top name Jon Moxley. While Moxley has never lost a singles matchup to Takeshita in their past three meetings, the Death Riders leader is reeling following an upset loss to Claudio Castagnoli earlier this week.
Also in tournament action: Roderick Strong and Orange Cassidy look to get on the board, and Castagnoli faces CMLL high-flyer Mascara Dorada. If Ricochet can successfully defend his AEW National Championship against Dalton Castle on Friday night, it’s expected that he’ll also present an open challenge on this episode.
- Ricochet AEW National Championship Open Challenge
- Roderick Strong vs. Orange Cassidy (Continental Classic Blue League)
- Claudio Castagnoli vs. Mascara Dorada (Continental Classic Blue League)
- Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita (Continental Classic Blue League)
Sunday
NJPW World Tag League Night 12 / 2 a.m. ET / NJPW World
The B Block for NJPW’s World Tag League will be the focus of a Sunday night card in Ehime, Japan.
Unlike the A Block, all eight teams are still mathematically alive on this side of the tournament. Among the frontrunners in the group are IWGP Tag Team Champions OSKAR & Yuto-Ice (who have rallied together three consecutive wins as of late), the duo of Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura (who had a stellar main event on Wednesday), and the TMDK team of Zack Sabre Jr. and Ryohei Oiwa.
Umino and Uemura will try to overcome the cheating tactics of House of Torture’s Ren Narita and SANADA in the main event spot of Sunday’s show. Expect a cameo from Dick Togo and SHO at some point.
- Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. Drilla Moloney, Shingo Takagi & Daiki Nagai
- Masatora Yasuda, Satoshi Kojima & Taichi vs. Gabe Kidd, Gedo & Yota Tsuji
- El Desperado, Shoma Kato & Shuji Ishikawa vs. Chase Owens, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Yujiro Takahashi
- Katsuya Murashima, Boltin Oleg, Toru Yano & Zane Jay vs. Dick Togo, Don Fale, EVIL & SHO
- El Phantasmo & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Callum Newman & Great-O-Khan (B Block)
- Alex Zayne & Lance Archer vs. OSKAR & Yuto-Ice (B Block)
- David Finlay & Hiromu Takahashi vs. Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr. (B Block)
- Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura vs. Ren Narita & SANADA (B Block)
NOAH Kaito Kiyomiya 10th Anniversary Event “Mad Decade” / 4 a.m. ET / Wrestle Universe
If you crave some early morning wrestling on Sunday but don’t want to watch the Tag League, you might be interested in checking out the 10th anniversary card for NOAH’s Kaito Kiyomiya.
The show will feature Kiyomiya in a singles match against his first-ever opponent, Hitoshi Kumano, an appearance in the co-main event, then an Iron Man match against Kenoh in the main event. An eventful night for 29-year-old Kiyomiya, to say the least. This reminds me a lot of the recent NJPW-hosted show, which saw Taiji Ishimori wrestle every single match on the card.
These self-produced events from Japan are some of the more unique shows of the year, and this one looks like a fun way to celebrate a decade in the business for Kiyomiya.
- Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Hitoshi Kumano
- Daiki Odashima vs. Hayato Koyanagi
- Aoi Takahashi vs. Hiroto Tsuruya
- Kaito Kiyomiya, Harutoki, Alejandro & Kai Fujimura vs. Naomichi Marufuji, Jack Morris, Junta Miyawaki & Andy Wu
- Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Kenoh (60-Minute Iron Man Match)
A few more quick hits before we get out of here…
- GCW has a pair of shows this weekend, both airing during late-night hours for viewers on the East Coast. On Friday, they’re heading to Seattle, Washington for “Say You Will,” a card featuring Jack Evans vs. Jack Cartwheel, and Shotzi Blackheart vs. Joey Janela. The promotion will head to the Ukrainian Cultural Center in LA the next night for a card including Atticus Cogar defending his GCW title against Effy, and a Lucha six-man tag bout including Gringo Loco, the aforementioned Cartwheel and Rey Horus. (TrillerTV+)
- Former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter will make her return to U.K.-based Pro Wrestling EVE on Friday night as part of the promotion’s “Let’s Slam Santa” card in London, England. Hayter has a solid supporting cast, including Joshi stand-out VENY, ICW World Heavyweight Champion RHIO, and former NXTUK wrestler Nina Samuels. (Pro Wrestling EVE Youtube Subscription)
- A little under 24 hours before he’ll be in Columbus for AEW Collision, Mascara Dorada will be working alongside El Sky Team partner Mistico in the main event of CMLL’s Friday night Arena Mexico card against Soberano Jr. and Difunto. The show will also feature Templario, Titan, Volador Jr., and La Catalina on the undercard. (CMLL Youtube Subscription)
