“Happy Holidays” SmackDown
Tonight’s truncated and pre-taped SmackDown kicked off with Nick Aldis telling Cody Rhodes that once Drew McIntyre makes his public apology and pays his fine, Cody can’t touch him, or else he will be stripped of his title. The Miz approached, asking where Joe Hendry was. Miz didn’t want Hendry’s music being played, and Aldis agreed. Hendry then appeared in the ring with a bunch of Santas, Tozawa as an elf, and an Easter Bunny for some reason.

Hendry then performed a holiday song about The Miz having tiny balls and not getting calls back from Hollywood. Miz interrupted, and Hendry repeated the song. Miz demanded the ring be cleared so they could have their match. Aldis emerged and made it a Miracle on 34th Street Fight. After a commercial break, the match began.
Miracle on 34th Street Fight
Hendry and Miz got into it using all sorts of holiday-themed weapons and other plunder at ringside. Eventually, they brought a Christmas Tree into the ring, and Hendry executed a fallaway slam using the tree on Miz. Hendry’s friends then all got involved, surrounding Miz. Finally, the Easter Bunny revealed himself to be R-Truth and shouted Happy Easter. He hit the 5 Knuckle Shuffle on Miz, and Hendry hit the Standing Ovation through a table for the win. Corey Graves said he was having flashbacks to the Rosebuds as the segment ended.
Gotta love him 🤣

Backstage, Carmelo Hayes was talking to Fraxiom when Ilja Dragunov interrupted. Dragunov said he didn’t like how their match title match ended a few weeks back, so they scheduled a rematch for tonight.
Drew McIntyre arrived and said that everyone would have all the answers by the end of the night, but he was going to take a nap.
An Aleister Black promo video aired, talking about Damien Priest, and oh yeah, we’re still doing this. “Zelina” (no Vega) said that they were there to remind him of the violence they had caused for the last six months.

Jade Cargill was interviewed backstage and said that Michin wouldn’t meet her face-to-face without weapons. Backstage, B-Fab told Michin she should be more cautious. Michin said no, and Cargill needed to be humbled.

Lash Legend vs. Charlotte Flair
Next up was Lash Legend taking on Charlotte Flair for the first time. Legend dominated the early portion of the match and bounced Flair’s torso on the middle rope repeatedly. Flair continually attempted to mount comebacks but was stopped each time by Legend’s offense. Nia Jax then got involved, causing Alexa Bliss to try to take her out. Charlotte then rolled Legend up for the win. Michael Cole claimed that Legend got distracted by Jax and Bliss outside the ring, but there was no evidence of that.

Trick Williams was in Nick Aldis’ office and asked whether Aldis would match Monday Night Raw’s offer. Cody Rhodes interrupted and asked Williams to leave, and Williams obliged. Williams came back moments later, saying he was the hottest free agent in the game. Williams ended by saying Cody had better grasp his title tight because he might be coming to SmackDown.

A pre-produced MFT video aired with Solo Sikoa saying he created a family, something that Uncle Howdy knows nothing about. Sikoa concluded that they were coming for the Tag titles.
United States Championship
Next was the United States Championship rematch between Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov. Dragunov dominated Hayes going into a commercial break. Upon return, Hayes finally swung the momentum, countering the H-Bomb with an Enziguri. Hayes followed that up with Springboard DDT for a two-count. Dragunov then hit the Constantine Special and a Senton for a near fall of his own. After another ad break, Hayes avoided another H-Bomb and reversed a Superplex attempt into a cutter in mid-air. Dragunov then hit a Death Valley Driver on the apron, but Hayes hit him with the First 48 and Nothing But Net for the win. Carmelo Hayes is the new United States Champion. After the match, Dragunov put the belt on Hayes and raised his hand.

Backstage, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair talked about getting the tag titles back when Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky appeared, saying they had a tag title match. Legend and Jax interrupted, followed by Asuka and Kairi, and everyone started arguing. Nick Aldis got in the middle and announced an eight-woman tag match for SmackDown next week.
Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre vs. Giulia & Kiana James
Next was a tag team match built around Giulia finally getting her hands on United States Champion Chelsea Green. The crowd sat on their hands for this one as Giulia got the pinfall victory on Green, obviously setting up a title match between the two.

Kit Wilson was with Nick Aldis backstage, and Aldis said there would be an opportunity for something “new” for him next week on SmackDown. Cody Rhodes said it was the end of the night, and he wanted to know what was going on with McIntyre. McIntyre’s music hit, and Aldis reminded him to control his emotions or lose the title.
A brief Oba Femi promo package aired, but it didn’t explicitly say he was coming to SmackDown; one might infer that from this instance.
Will Drew Apologize?
Nick Aldis offered Drew McIntyre the opportunity to apologize to referee Dan Engler and pay his fine. McIntyre handed over a check to Aldis and then apologized for Claymoring Engler. McIntyre then ran Engler down for not achieving his dream of becoming a wrestler and settling for being a referee. This brought out Cody Rhodes, and McIntyre goaded him into hitting him. Drew said they would do their title match in Berlin in a Three Stages of Hell match. McIntyre concluded by saying he would send Cody to hell, and he should say hi to Dusty for him when he gets there. Drew then hit Cody with the Claymore and held the WWE title up to end the show.
THREE STAGES OF HELL?!??
These two are going to absolutely destroy each other 🫣@DMcIntyreWWE @CodyRhodes pic.twitter.com/n8MS0mWkUB
