WWE has confirmed that Dominik Mysterio is out of action indefinitely following a shoulder injury.

The announcement was made during the December 29 broadcast of Monday Night Raw.

Commentator Joe Tessitore delivered the update during a triple-threat match for the Women’s World Championship involving Nikki Bella, Stephanie Vaquer, and Raquel Rodriguez.

Mysterio had been absent from the company’s holiday tour of live events prior to the announcement.

No detail on the precise nature of the injury was offered, nor a timeline for recovery.

The injury occurred on December 20 at the AAA Guerra de Titanes event in Guadalajara. Mysterio competed in a tag team match where he partnered with El Grande Americano to face his father, Rey Mysterio, and Rey Fenix.

During that match, the younger Mysterio appeared to have trouble using his arm after taking a DDT from his father.

The match concluded with Rey Mysterio pinning Dominik to secure the victory.
