Rich Fann and WH Park continue their dive into not-so-classic retro Marvel films with The Punisher (1989), starring Dolph Lundgren.
This is an interesting one, as the film was released just 15 issues into the character’s solo comic series and is completely disowned by Marvel. Rich and WH discuss where Dolph ranks in the pantheon of Punishers, how the film’s changes to Frank Castle’s origin work on screen, and, of course, the most ’80s motivation possible for saving mafia children. Plus, WH reveals (allegedly) a secret POST Forum member who might just be Dolph himself.
They also touch on Marvel’s sneaky rollout of multiple Avengers: Doomsday trailer variants during screenings of the new Avatar film, the mystery behind those meme-riffic Wonder Man teasers, and what they’re most looking forward to in 2026.
