Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega will make his first in-ring appearance of 2026 as part of next week’s Maximum Carnage card.

AEW announced Wednesday that Omega will be in action as part of next week’s TV special, which will go down on January 14 at the Arizona Financial Theater in Phoenix, Arizona.

The appearance comes a couple of weeks after Omega stated his intention to go after MJF and his AEW World Championship, trying to get one final run with the title in his career.

Omega’s booking was one of the three new additions to next week’s card revealed on Wednesday.

We now also know that Darby Allin’s long-awaited rematch against PAC will take place in Phoenix.

Allin has long wanted another shot against PAC, the last Death Riders member he has yet to beat in singles action. While PAC tried to deny him an in-ring opportunity this week, he eventually gave in to Allin’s demands after he was threatened to have his ankle broken.

In an overpowered six-woman tag match, all of the division’s champions will come together to take on The Triangle of Madness. AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander, TBS Champion Willow Nightingale, and AEW Women’s Tag Team Champion Harley Cameron will face off against Thekla, Skye Blue, and Julia.

Is Thekla and company biting off more than they can chew by challenging the trio? We’ll find out next week.

The already-announced main event of the card will see AEW World Champion MJF look to defend his title against Bandido, who earned a shot by winning the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
