A new #1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship will be decided when the WWE-owned Lucha promotion makes its debut on FOX Latin America this weekend.
As part of the promotion’s inaugural show on FOX’s main Latin American channel, El Grande Americano and El Hijo del Vikingo will face off in a #1 contender match. The winner will get a shot at a later date to face Dominik Mysterio, who is currently out of action due to injury.
Will @Americano_WWE or @vikingo_aaa be next to challenge @DomMysterio35 for the AAA Mega Championship? 🤔

For Vikingo, the booking offers him a chance to earn a shot at regaining the Mega title, which Mysterio took off him back in September at Worlds Collide: Las Vegas. Vikingo is a two-time past Mega champ, including an 833-day reign from 2021 to 2024.
The upcoming bout is a rematch from November, when El Grande Americano overcame Vikingo in a 22-minute performance. If he can recreate that result this weekend, he’ll get his first-ever one-on-one opportunity at the title.
This weekend’s AAA card will go live from Mexico City at 9 p.m. ET. While the event will air exclusively on FOX Latin America in the regions where the channel airs, elsewhere it will remain available via Youtube or Facebook. This means American, Canadian or overseas viewers will have access to the event the same way they did in 2025.
