AEW has confirmed dual contracts for multiple performers from CMLL.
Tony Khan revealed that Hechicero, Persephone, and Máscara Dorada are under deals with both promotions.
Hechicero has been a mainstay in AEW and ROH over the past year as a member of the Don Callis Family while remaining a regular in CMLL. Hechicero was among the six men featured in the Survival of the Fittest elimination match for the ROH title at Final Battle last month and will face Roderick Strong in a #1 contender’s match for the CMLL heavyweight title this Friday at Arena México.
Persephone, 24, began wrestling in 2020 and started in CMLL three years later. She wrestled Mercedes Moné, Alex Windsor, and Bozilla last August at Forbidden Door for the TBS Championship, and headlined ROH Final Battle against Athena for the women’s championship in December.
Dorada, 24, has only been wrestling for three years but has become a breakout star. He transitioned from Panterita del Ring Jr. to the current moniker and gained popularity as a member of El Sky Team with Místico and Neón. The three are the current CMLL World Trios champions, which they won last May. Dorada has held the welterweight championship since December 2023. Last September, he had one of the best matches of the year with Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita at All Out in Toronto.
The news comes before CMLL’s International Weekend, with Ricochet, GOA, Roderick Strong, and Lee Moriarty participating on the shows.
