OTM to challenge DarkState for NXT tag titles next week, championship qualifiers to continue

Long-time NXT duo OTM will try to claim gold for the first time next week.

The duo of Bronco Nima and Lucien Price will challenge DarkState’s Osiris Griffin and Saquon Shugars of DarkState for the NXT Tag Team Championships on next Tuesday’s episode, as confirmed this evening.

Nima and Price called out DarkState on this week’s episode of NXT, keeping their focus on the heel faction shortly after brawling with them on a recent episode of the show.

DarkState have carried NXT’s tag belts since October, when they ended a brief reign from The Hardys to reclaim the titles.

The remaining entrants in NXT’s February 3 ladder match for the vacant men’s championship will be determined through a trio of qualifying matches next week.

Attempting to begin his first-ever NXT title reign, Joe Hendry will face EVOLVE Champion Jackson Drake. Keanu Carver, who has been built up on recent NXT TV by destroying numerous other talents, will face Andre Chase. And DarkStates Dion Lennox will try to get another title opportunity when he faces Myles Borne.

We have already learned that Ricky Saints, Sean Legacy, and Shiloh Hill will be competing in the upcoming ladder match. The second half of that matchup will be confirmed in a week’s time.

It was also confirmed on Tuesday night that a three-way for the NXT Women’s North American Championship has been added to the brand’s February 3 show. Defending for the first time, Izzi Dame will face former titleholder Thea Hail, along with Lola Vice. Vice called for a title shot following her win against Kelani Jordan last week, and Hail is chasing a rematch after dropping her title at New Year’s Evil earlier this month.
