NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne got past Sol Ruca on Tuesday, but got another title appearance booked for next week in the process.
Following her seven-second win over Ruca this week, Jayne has agreed to face Zaria for the title as part of a March 3 episode of NXT from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.
Jayne’s win came due to Zaria attacking Ruca just before the title match, hitting her former tag partner with a spear and F5. Moments later, Jayne finished the job by giving Ruca her Rolling Encore finisher for the pinfall win.
Zaria confronted Jayne backstage shortly after the match, demanding a shot at the title due to the significant role she played in the bout’s outcome. The newly heel-turned Zaria, now separated from Ruca for the first time in months, will try to earn her first-ever NXT title in the upcoming appearance.
It was also confimred on Tuesday that six-man tag action will go down next week, with Hank & Tank teaming with Shiloh Hill to face The Vanity Project.
The matchup was made during a backstage segment after Hill admitted that he stole the steering wheel from Brad Baylor’s car. A win for Hank & Tank could mean a future tag title opportunity, as Baylor and Ricky Smokes dethroned NXT tag champs DarkState this week.
Along with the two matches, it was announced that NXT Championship #1 contender Ricky Saints will present “An Absolute Experience.” Countering reigning champ Joe Hendry’s past concerts with a performance of his own, Saints will try to send a message before they face off at Vengeance Day just a few days later.
Here’s everything they announced for the go-home episode of NXT before Vengeance Day.
- Jacy Jayne vs. Zaria (NXT Women’s Championship)
- Hank Walker, Tank Ledger & Shiloh Hill vs. Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes
- An Absolute Experience with Ricky Saints
