A world title matchup has been booked for next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Thunder Rosa will get her first AEW title shot in over a year when she takes on Women’s World Champion Thekla as part of next Wednesday’s show from the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas.

Former champ Rosa made her return this month with the goal of going after Thekla and her Triangle of Madness faction, trying to get revenge after they ended Kris Statlander’s title reign.

After taking down Julia Hart on last weekend’s episode of Collision, it was announced this week that Rosa will get a shot at the champ. Before then, she’ll team with Statlander as part of this weekend’s Collision, facing Hart and Skye Blue.

Rosa notably held the AEW Women’s World Championship for over 170 days in 2022, eventually dropping the belt due to a back injury.

The upcoming bout will be the first time Thekla defends her title since dethroning Statlander on Dynamite earlier this month.

Rosa vs. Thekla is the sole match confirmed for next week’s Dynamite thus far.
