wXw European champion removed from 16 Carat Gold due to “major career opportunity”

Ricky Sosa has been removed from wXw’s 16 Carat Gold tournament next weekend due to a “major career opportunity”.

The promotion posted an update that its European champion will not be available for the tournament from March 6 -8, citing “a last-minute major career opportunity” without adding specifics.

Sosa is 21 years old and was born in the Netherlands. He started wrestling four years ago and won wXw’s European title last December on the company’s 25th anniversary card.

The annual 16 Carat Gold tournament begins on March 6 in Oberhausen with the following opening round matches:

  • BUSHI vs. Zoltan
  • YAMATO vs. Axel Tischer
  • Titus Alexander vs. TBA
  • Arez vs. Peter Tihanyi
  • Tetsuya Naito vs. Dieter Schwartz
  • Chihiro Hashimoto vs. Thomas Shire
  • Erick Stevens vs. Bobby Gunns
  • Dennis Dullnig vs. Ahura
