NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne will defend her title against Sol Ruca and Zaria a week from Tuesday.
Interim NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced the triple threat match during Saturday’s Vengeance Day event. Houston will host the championship encounter.
Stone called Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid to the ring to determine a new challenger. Jayne addressed the crowd, rejecting claims that she is a transitional champion. She claimed to be a dominant titleholder who deserves to main event Stand & Deliver.
Zaria interrupted the champion to demand another title opportunity. She called Jayne delusional regarding her recent title defenses. Henley and Reid verbally defended Jayne, blaming Zaria for her recent failures and broken friendship with Ruca.
Ruca then entered the arena to confront her former tag team partner. She claimed she knows how to exploit Zaria’s insecurities and break her heart. Stone subsequently formalized the three-way championship match.
A physical altercation between all five women immediately followed the announcement. Ruca executed the Sol Snatcher on Zaria before Jayne struck Ruca with a rolling elbow. Fatal Influence remained standing in the ring to conclude the segment.
