Will Ospreay is unable to wrestle at Dominion in June as the AEW star is getting married that weekend.

Ospreay spoke with Tokyo Sports while in Japan for Sakura Genesis this past weekend. Ospreay wrestled in a six-man tag earlier in the night and joined United Empire in Callum Newman’s corner, where the 23-year-old became the youngest IWGP heavyweight champion ever.

Ospreay will return for both nights of Wrestling Dontaku on May 3 & May 4 in Fukuoka, but says he cannot wrestle at Dominion in June:

I can’t appear at Osaka-jo Hall (June 14th) because my wedding (my wife is female wrestler Alex Windsor) is the day after the event, but I want to participate in as many big New Japan matches as possible this year. AEW is the best environment, but I have a special feeling for Japan, and I also want to spend more time with the members of United Empire (UE).

In the same interview, he expressed a desire to compete in the G1 Climax again but said, “It’s hard to ask Tony (Khan) this year if I can take six weeks off, but I’ve talked to my wife about it, and I do want to participate in the G1 Climax again someday.”

Ospreay is the centerpiece of the promotional material for All In London at Wembley Stadium on August 30, and the G1 Climax runs from July 11 until August 16 this year.

Ospreay last wrestled in the G1 Climax in 2023 and was eliminated by Tetsuya Naito in the semi-final and went to the final in 2022, losing to Kazuchika Okada.
