Kyle O’Reilly is back and already has gold.
Veteran talent O’Reilly returned in front of his home province of British Columbia, Canada on Sunday night, winning the AEW World Trios Championships alongside Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong.
Their win came against The Dogs (David Finlay, Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd) in the co-main event of the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view.
O’Reilly scored a submission win against Connors in just under 10 minutes to win the belts, ending a reign that had only just started for the former NJPW trio.
Kidd seemingly suffered an injury during the match, getting pulled from the competition just a few minutes into the performance. He was seen favoring his right arm before being escorted out of the venue by AEW personnel partway through the match.
O’Reilly had been out of action since November due to injury, with his last match dating back to Full Gear 2025.
The Dogs had the trios titles for just over 24 hours, at least in storyline.
The Dogs only started their reign with the AEW World Trios Championships on Saturday night’s episode of Collision, which was taped on Wednesday. They dethroned the trio of Speedball Bailey, Kevin Knight and Mistico, who captured the belts at last month’s Revolution event.
