Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, two founding members of the New Day, have left WWE.

The original reporting came from Fightful Select and Cory Hayes of Bodyslam.net on Saturday.

Both departures have been described as mutual decisions to part ways, per Fightful.

Kingston and Woods have each been moved to the ‘Alumni’ section of WWE.com, confirming their exits from the active roster.

Kingston’s final televised appearance came on the April 17 episode of SmackDown, where he teamed with Grayson Waller, the third member of the latest New Day lineup, in a losing effort against WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest and R-Truth.

Woods had been sidelined with an injury and had not appeared on television since the January 26 edition of Raw. His last in-ring action came in a dark match at the Royal Rumble, and no timetable for his return had been announced prior to his departure.

The exits mark the end of an era for two performers whose partnership with Big E, as part of the New Day, became one of the most enduring acts in modern WWE. Kingston signed with the company in 2006 and Woods followed in 2010.

Kofi Kingston

Kingston (Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah), a native of Ghana who was raised in the United States, signed with WWE in 2006. Over nearly two decades, he became one of the most decorated competitors in WWE history, capturing the WWE Championship, four Intercontinental Championships, three United States Championships and 14 Tag Team Championships.

His crowning moment came at WrestleMania 35 in April 2019, when he defeated Daniel Bryan to win the WWE Championship at the peak of “KofiMania,” a grassroots fan movement that propelled him to the top of the card.

Xavier Woods

Woods (Austin Watson) signed with WWE in 2010. As a performer, he accumulated 10 Tag Team Championship reigns and one NXT Tag Team Championship, the vast majority alongside Kingston and Big E as part of the New Day.

Beyond the ring, Woods created and hosted UpUpDownDown, WWE’s dedicated gaming channel on YouTube, which became a significant part of the company’s digital content.
