Two title matches have been confirmed for next week’s episode of WWE NXT.
The May 19 show, which will take place at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, will feature Lizzy Rain’s first-ever title opportunity since signing with WWE.
Former European indie star Rain will take on NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley on Tuesday’s show, it was announced today.
After Paxley and Rain won a tag match this week against Zaria and Nikkita Lyons, the champ offered her a title opportunity for next week. The match will be Paxley’s fifth time defending the belt since she dethroned Izzi Dame back in May.
It would be a quick rise to a title opportunity for Rain if she can win, as it was just a few weeks ago when she initially emerged on NXT TV.
We also know that DarkState will try to regain the NXT Tag Team Championships when Dion Lennox and Saquon Shugars take on Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes of The Vanity Project.
Lennox and Shugars have failed to get along in recent weeks. Will they be able to set their egos aside in the important matchup?
The NXT in-ring debuts of Kam Hendrix and Mason Rook will take place when they face Myles Borne and Tony D’Angelo in a tag match. Rook has been a big name in NXT since his arrival, including a notable contract signing on this week’s show.
It seems likely that the match will have some involvement from Tavion Heights, who was visibly upset this week after finding out that he was excluded from the booking.
While not announced for next week, it’s also expected that Tate Wilder will go one-on-one with Keanu Carver.
