Buddy Matthews made a surprise appearance on Friday’s World Series Wrestling event in Australia.

The AEW performer, who has been out of action since February 2025, appeared in the ring after a four-way match involving Dijak, Matt Hayter, Matt Riddle & Moose.

Dijak hit Feast Your Eyes on Hayter to win the World Series Wrestling Australian championship. Dijak shook hands with Hayter, but then attacked the wrestler, and the lights went out.

Matthews appeared in the ring with his identity hidden as he struck Dijak from behind with a chair before revealing himself. Matthews followed by hitting a stomp as the crowd reacted to the surprise.

He added that he might not be cleared right now, but he will be in October, and teased going for the WSW Australian championship.

World Series Wrestling will be running its MegaMania event on October 31 in Adelaide, Australia. They are advertising Matthews, Killer Kross, Andrade El Idolo, Shayna Baszler, Sammy Guevara, Tetsuya Naito, and BUSHI for the show.
