A special event featuring El Grande American (Marcel Barthel) has been rescheduled by AAA for Friday night in Mexico City.
AAA had planned to host “Serenade for El Grande Americano” on Thursday evening, but announced during the day that it had been canceled, but didn’t provide a reason.
Now, the event is back on and will take place at the Kings League Dome, featuring an appearance by Barthel for a rally before his Mask vs. Mask match on May 30 at Noche de Los Grandes.

Barthel was arrested earlier this week for an incident that occurred last month, where the WWE star is accused of battery involving another man at his Florida complex. Barthel posted his $1,000 bond and made a request to be granted approval to leave the country, with the assistant state attorney not objecting to the request, per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Therefore, Barthel should have no restrictions regarding travel for tonight’s event or next weekend’s Mask vs. Mask match.
WWE has not responded to an inquiry by POST Wrestling regarding the incident with Barthel.
