MJF might have suffered an injury during his world title match against Rush.
Beyond Wrestling announced Thursday morning that MJF hyperextended his knee during his match on Dynamite and is not medically cleared to travel or compete. He will miss the promotion’s Friday event in Cranston, Rhode Island, but MJF told promoter Drew Cordeiro that he would wrestle for the promotion as soon as his schedule allowed.
Neither Tony Khan nor MJF has commented on the AEW champion’s status. MJF simply commented on Mark Briscoe’s promo, stating he would never wrestle him again and that he is the most powerful voice in AEW.
MJF told Undisputed’s Justin Barrasso this week that the Beyond Wrestling event would be his last indie date “for an extraordinarily long time” because he wanted to put his focus solely on AEW.
