Chad Gable documents rotator cuff operation last year, surgeon discovered further damage to biceps tendon

Chad Gable continues to roll out footage of his recovery process from surgery last year.

Gable’s second video was released on Friday and outlined the need for further work while he was under the knife in Birmingham, Alabama. Gable underwent surgery for a torn rotator cuff in his left arm, but Dr. Jeffrey Dugas found his biceps tendon near the shoulder “pretty much completely shredded” and worse than he thought, so he had to be repaired simultaneously.

Dr. Dugas is seen telling Gable that the procedure “could not have gone better” shortly after the surgery.

The remainder of the video saw Gable go to physical therapy for a light session in Birmingham before flying home and beginning his road to recovery. He was instructed not to train for six weeks and allow the arm to heal properly.

Gable was out of action from June 2025 until this past January, when he returned at the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia.
