The show began with a recap of the WWE Undisputed Title match from last week. Michael Cole and Corey Graves were also on commentary in place of Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett.
Prelude to Night of Champions
Trick Williams and Lil Yachty do their back-and-forth. Trick said he simply doesn’t miss SmackDown. It takes something “meteoric” for him to miss SmackDown. He revealed his wedding ring and his marriage to Lash Legend in Jamaica. He moved on to Ricky Starks and said he would “absolutely whoop his ass.” Ricky Saints entered. Ricky congratulated Trick on his marriage, but said that it meant he’s not good at making life decisions. The crowd gave him the “who are you” treatment, and Ricky did decent enough to play it off. Trick stuck to his schtick, saying he’d whoop him to London Bridge. Ricky said he was “on the sauce” because he shouldn’t be overlooking him. “Reality is staring at you.” Ricky said the “hype train” would end at Night of Champions. Trick asked who his dentist would be when he kicks his teeth down his throat. Ricky asked if Lil Yachty comes with the title when he beats Trick. Yachty didn’t like that, and Ricky gave cheap shots to Yachty and later Trick when Trick had his back turned, checking on Yachty.
"Does your little friend come along with that too?"
Hey, leave @lilyachty out of this! 😡 pic.twitter.com/uL8hqkHVPU

We got a recap of Jade Cargill and her baddies attacking Charlotte Flair before her Queen of the Ring match against Liv Morgan.
Jackie Redmond was backstage with Alexa Bliss for an update on Charlotte. Bliss said Charlotte is feeling the physical and emotional pain and said she’d get her revenge on Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin, even if she has to tag with Tiffany Stratton, who wasn’t happy to be in their business, but only cared about getting after Jade before their match.
Alexa Bliss & Tiffany Stratton vs. B-Fab & Michin
Tiffany and Alexa had a lot of early offense in the match amid some slow-motion spots. Alexa hit Michin with a DDT on the outside, but B-Fab blind-tagged herself in and gained control through the picture-in-picture break. Tiffany got the hot tag coming out of the break, knocking Michin off the apron and landing the Alabama Slam on B-Fab for a nearfall. Tiffany then hit a handspring Stunner for a two-count. Michin broke up the pinfall after Tiffany hit the Swanton Bomb. Bliss and Michin fought outside, and Michin sent Bliss to the timekeeper’s table. Michin distracted the ref, and Jade knocked Tiffany off the top rope as she was going for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. B-Fab hit a twisting cutter for the win.
After the match, Jade and her baddies cornered Tiffany, but Chelsea Green came in for the save, hitting B-Fab with a kendo stick, and after losing it, she outsmarted Michin and Jade, sending them to the outside.

We got a recap of the Solo Sikoa part of last week’s Bloodline drama.
MFT breakup
Solo tried talking to Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga about Raw. Tama said they’re tired of being part of Solo’s war with Roman Reigns and The Usos. Tama pointed out that they don’t have any gold, and now Solo is helping out LA Knight. Talla said they are out after hearing from the others. Solo yelled that no one leaves him as Tama and Talla walked away.
Jade was running through the hallways looking for Nick Aldis and demanded a match against Chelsea Green, and he made the match.
AAA Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix vs. Nathan Frazer
This had a fast-paced start to engage the crowd, with commentary trying their best to put over Frazer. Fenix and Frazer went back and forth, doing their best given how cold the matchup is. Fenix hit a handspring Stunner, followed up by a neckbreaker off a fireman’s carry for a two count. The crowd gave Fenix “let’s go Fenix” chants as Frazer caught Fenix with a step-up enzuigiri on the top rope. He flipped off the corner and ran up to hit the superplex. Both men upped the pace and did a double-down spot after they went for high kicks. A strike exchange ended with Fenix hitting a spinning heel kick, but Frazer caught Fenix with a Spanish Fly off the second rope and then a Twist and Shout for a two-count. Frazer went up to the top rope and missed the Phoenix Splash. Fenix landed a double knee strike, and the Mexican Muscle Buster was blocked. Frazer hit a step-up enzuigiri to send Fenix outside. Frazer crashes face-first on the announce table, going for a tope suicida. Fenix sends Frazer back in the ring and goes up top and hits a frog splash for a nearfall. Fenix caught Frazer setting himself up in the top rope with a Mexican Muscle Buster for the win.
THIS IS AWESOME! 👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/PDf1eV36qx

Cole threw in a line where he said he envied Graves and how he wanted to call AAA. A show of sportsmanship between Fenix and Frazer.
Byron Saxton was backstage with Damian Priest and R-Truth. Priest cut off the treehouse talk and was about to talk about what was next for them. The War Raiders came and challenged Priest and Truth to put the WWE and AAA tag titles on the line. Truth turned into a Spanish stereotype and got mad whenever Erik told him he wasn’t on the Judgement Day.
LA Knight pulled up in a car and told Redmond that he wasn’t sure why he was on SmackDown and was going to get answers.
A King of the Ring vignette played.
Riding Solo
LA Knight gave a recap of what happened on Raw and called out Solo Sikoa. The crowd actually sang Solo’s name, but after that, Knight pointed out that he and Solo have always fought. Solo cut off Knight and told him that he wasn’t here to fight him. He also pointed out that everyone in his family had left him. However, Knight’s heart doesn’t pump “purple piss” for him and his family. Knight seems to think that leaves an opening for Solo to reunite with the Bloodline. An “OTC” chant broke out, and Knight asked Solo if that’s what he wants in his future. Solo yelled that he hated the Bloodline, including Jacob Fatu, The Usos, and Roman. The only way for him to feel better is if he can finish them. He knows that they have one thing in common: they hate the Boodline. Knight agreed and noted that The Usos and Jacob should hate Roman more, but they’ve gone back in the fold. Knight still doesn’t trust Solo and wonders why things would be different. Solo said he had nothing to lose, and he was not family, so he’s alone. He said they can work together and be partners to take out the Bloodline while watching each other’s backs. Knight was still skeptical. Even though he’s outnumbered, he will live and die doing things his own way and told Solo that he doesn’t need him.
Woahhh don’t get it twisted, Solo Sikoa ✋@RealLAKnight pic.twitter.com/Si2qbanM3Q

Saxton was backstage with Sami Zayn, who addressed his officiating last week. He said he did what anyone else would have done and that only Johnny Gargano understands him, much to Candice LeRae’s disappointment. Sami admitted he hasn’t been himself and that started when he lost his WWE title opportunity at the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia, and now that he’s done well, the universe has allowed him to redeem himself. This sparked inspiration in Sami, thinking he would be the WWE champion.
Paige vs. Jacy Jayne
The crowd wasn’t as hot for Paige as you’d expect. There were some moments, like when they chanted, “This is your house,” after she said her “this is my house” catchphrase. What you’d probably expect is Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid doing everything they could to help distract Paige and help out Jacy. There was a close call, where Jacy had a backslide pin on Paige and got her foot on the ropes, and Brie Bella barely swiped Jacy’s feet off. Brie and Fatal Influence fought outside, and Paige took advantage and rolled up Jacy for the win.

Danhausen was with The Miz and Kit Wilson, and Matt Cardona wondered what was going on with him. The Miz and Kit Wilson seemingly left. Los Garza wondered where Danhausen was with their money, and Danhausen told Cardona not to touch the corpse.

Finn Balor caught up with Tama and Talla, who were leaving the arena. Finn said he’s glad Tama is making his own decisions and noted how they used to run together. Tama said that was a long time ago and pointed out that Shinsuke Nakamura was from his past, and we saw what happened to him.
Danhausen came out with Miz and Kit and rolled them into the ring. Danhausen welcomed everyone to Danhausen TV and his “Legion of Danhausen.” He manipulated their catchphrases until Los Garza came out and attacked Miz and Kit. Cardona came out to assist Danhausen, and Aldis came out and booked a tag match between the men.
Danhausen & Matt Cardona vs. Los Garza
This match happened during the commercial, and we cut in with Los Garza knocking Cardona and Danhausen outside, as Miz and Kit wandered outside. Los Garza sent Kit to the timekeeper’s table, allowing Cardona a chance to get the hot tag to Danhausen, who went to work on Los Garza until he gassed himself up. However, he fired himself up and hit a German on Berto that was broken up by Angel, who told Danhausen that he would pay for the money he owed him. Kit saved Miz from taking a chair shot. Cardona took out Angel with a Rough Ryder. Danhausen stands up and curses Berto, with sparks flying, causing him to lose his footing on the top rope. Danhausen won with a reverse DDT. Notably, there wasn’t any mention of Los Garza on AAA as part of Perros Del Mal.
Just needed a quick breather then back to business 😅@DanhausenAD pic.twitter.com/1bRVJmThxe

Gunther was with Saxton and reacted to Sami saying Night of Champions will be his night of redemption, but Gunther said he’s worthy of redemption over what has happened to him. Gunther wasn’t happy when Saxton brought up his win-loss record against Cody Rhodes, pointing out how Cody Rhodes had screwed him over twice.
A Zuffa Boxing promotion led to a Queen of the Ring vignette.
Chelsea Green vs. Jade Cargill
This started one-sided in Jade’s favor. Chelsea avoided a spear in the corner and rolled up Jade for a two-count. There seemed to be some timing missed when Chelsea avoided Jade’s run-in attacks. Chelsea hit a top-rope crossbody for a nearfall. Jade ate a superkick but responded with a boot and Jade for the win.
Jade attacked Chelsea after the match, and Tiffany and Alexa came out for the save. B-Fab and Michin got involved and eventually got the numbers on Tiffany and set up Cargill for Jaded.
Will @Jade_Cargill get the last laugh TOMORROW at #WWENOC?! 👀 pic.twitter.com/kgYI0aXabt

Saxton was with Solo backstage. While pondering his thoughts on being alone, Royce Keys came up to him and told him that Jacob was coming for him. Solo asked if Royce was going to help him like he helped Keys, but Royce simply wished Solo luck.
In the last three-hour SmackDown of the year, there was a preview of the Bron Breakker-Seth Rollins cage match.
Redmond was with Trick and Yachty, who responded to Ricky’s cheap shots. Yachty said Ricky has their attention, and he’s in a “tricky situation” and that “only a sucker would sucker punch a man.” Trick said that he is bigger, harder, prettier, and smoother than Ricky and that Saturday will be the “Night of Trick.”

Giulia vs. Kiana James
Kiana didn’t waste time, charging in for a pump kick to start the match. Giulia responded with a shotgun dropkick to send the action outside. Giulia was in control, and the crowd was very quiet through most of this match. Kiana regained control after sending Giulia into the steel steps. Giulia delivered a top-rope missile dropkick heading out of the PiP break. The crowd started getting into the match during a strike exchange. Kiana nailed a superkick, but Giulia rolled out of a standing moonsault. Kiana met Giulia on the top rope and dragged her down, grabbing her hair. Kiana hit a Falcon Arrow for a two-count. Giulia avoided a scoop slam, but Kiana ducked a kick and hit a powerbomb, but a stacked pin gave her a two-count. Kiana had Giulia in a fireman’s carry and carried her to the second rope, and Giulia countered it into a sunset-flip bomb. Giulia hit Arrivederci and the northern lights bomb for the win.
After the match, Blake Monroe attacked Giulia from behind to a moderate pop. Monroe laid Giulia out with a Neutralizer, as her music played.
Final standoff
Sami quickly interrupted Cody’s promo after his “What do you wanna talk about?” Sami wanted to tell Cody that he regretted his behavior as the ref last week and that at the end of the day, he’s the last real good guy, so he should have been better. Sami said it was a mistake, which Cody questioned. Sami wanted Cody to know that this wasn’t how he wanted his WWE championship match. Cody yelled that he had had enough and called out Sami, saying this is exactly how he wanted it: the fact that Cody doesn’t need to be pinned to lose the title. Cody told Sami that he isn’t a victim; he’s exhausting. He called Sami a mosquito backstage, sucking the blood out of him. He said he can’t wrap his head around the fact that he’s best friends with Kevin Owens. He noted that KO would have stabbed him in the front, and at least KO has been the WWE champion. Sami yelled at Cody to keep Owens’ name out of his mouth. He pointed out that without him, Gunther would be the WWE champion. He said instead of chastising him, he should be thanking him. He’s the WWE champion because of him, and he will no longer be the WWE champion because of him.
Damn hitting @samizayn where it hurts 😭 pic.twitter.com/zgIsvxhBFY

Gunther made his way to the ring. He wondered what all this drama was about because he didn’t care. All he cares about is the WWE title. He said Sami was right about Sami screwing him. However, he said Sami was wrong when he said he would leave Night of Champions with the title. He called Sami a non-factor as a wrestler. “You have never been WWE champion, and you never will be.” He told Cody to enjoy his last night as the golden boy and that he would walk into SummerSlam facing off against the King of the Ring.
Jey Uso then came out, and Gunther cut off the encore. Jey said he will punch his ticket to SummerSlam when he becomes King of the Ring. He gave warning shots to Cody and Sami, and Gunther attacked Jey when he brought up their WrestleMania. Gunther took out Sami, and Cody and Jey took out Gunther, with the two standing in the ring face-to-face.
You get a warning shot, and you get a warning shot! 💥 pic.twitter.com/vcmEhlv9iQ
— WWE (@WWE) June 27, 2026
Oba Femi then strutted his way to the ring. While Oba was standing on the apron, Jey superkicked Cody. Gunther snuck up on Jey and gave him a lariat. Gunther then picked up the WWE title and talked trash to Oba. Sami then attacked Gunther and grabbed the title to stare at Oba. Cody got his title back, and Oba went into the ring, and he and Cody had a face-to-face, with Cody holding his title up high.
