Oba Femi has defeated Jey Uso in the opening match of WWE Night of Champions to become the 2026 King of the Ring.

The win gives Femi the right to challenge for a men’s world championship at SummerSlam.

Femi pinned Uso with the Fall From Grace in just under eight minutes after surviving a late comeback from the former World Heavyweight Champion.

Uso tried to offset Femi’s power early, sending him into the ring post and following with two suicide dives. Femi cut off a third dive with a forearm and took control after returning to the ring.

The closing stretch saw Uso hit multiple superkicks, a spear, and two splashes from the top rope. Femi kicked out, then powered out of a sleeper hold before landing two running uppercuts.

Femi followed by throwing Uso across the ring and hitting the Fall From Grace to secure the tournament victory.

After the match, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis presented Femi with the King of the Ring crown. Byron Saxton then interviewed Femi in the ring.

Femi said it felt good to go from “the Ruler” to “the King,” adding that Uso did not understand what he was facing. He said Uso could beat one man, but could not beat fate, destiny, or Femi.

Femi also referred to himself as “the Ruler,” “the Destroyer,” “the Bringer of War,” “the Mountain You Cannot Climb,” and “the Beast Slayer” before raising the crown.
