AAA on Fox 7/11 Results: Vikingo’s title vacated, Dominik Mysterio aligns with El Grande Americano

El Hijo del Vikingo’s AAA Latin American Championship was formally vacated on Saturday due to his recent knee injury.

Elsewhere, Dominik Mysterio formed an unlikely alliance with El Grande Americano.

The developments took place during Saturday’s broadcast of AAA on Fox from Arena Potosi in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Match results

  • Money Machine (Colmillo De Plata & Garra De Oro) vs. Noisy Boy & Epydemius Jr. — No contest

Cruiserweight contendership

Mini Vikingo defeated Jack Cartwheel and Dragon Lee in the opening match to become the number one contender for Rey Fenix’s AAA Cruiserweight Championship. The finish saw Lee execute a Styles Clash on Cartwheel. Mini Vikingo immediately followed up with a 630 splash on Cartwheel to secure the pin.

The Cruiserweight Title match will take place at the upcoming multi-week Verano de Escandalo event.

Backstage tensions

El Grande Americano met with General Manager Rey Mysterio, who warned him about the danger posed by the Perros del Mal faction. AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio interrupted the segment.

Dominik proposed an alliance to watch each other’s backs leading up to their title match at Triplemania, citing the faction as a mutual threat. Americano expressed skepticism regarding the offer.

Latin American Championship vacated

Dorian Roldan and Omos appeared in the ring to address the AAA Latin American Championship. Roldan confirmed that titleholder El Hijo del Vikingo suffered a knee injury requiring surgery and will be sidelined for several months.

Roldan attempted to unilaterally award the vacant championship to Omos and threatened to sue Rey Mysterio for negligence. Mysterio interrupted the segment and threatened to suspend Omos indefinitely if he did not hand over the title belt. Omos complied, and Mysterio officially declared the championship vacant.

The general manager noted that plans to crown a new champion will be announced next week. Damian Priest later expressed interest in pursuing the title.

Verano de Escandalo announcements

During a press conference segment, Mysterio announced that Verano de Escandalo will take place over three weeks, beginning July 25. He confirmed that Lady Flammer will defend the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against Lady Shani and La Catalina in a three-way match.

Mysterio also announced a mixed tag team match for next week featuring La Hiedra and Laredo Kid against Joaquin Wilde and Faby Apache. The winners will earn a title shot against AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana at Verano de Escandalo.

Los Perros del Mal continue reign of fear

The unannounced main event between Money Machine and the team of Noisy Boy and Epydemius Jr. ended in a no-contest. Karmen Petrovic and the rest of Los Perros del Mal stormed the ring to attack both teams.

Daga demanded that El Grande Americano confront the faction. Americano arrived with Rayo and Bravo, but Los Perros del Mal quickly overwhelmed them.

Dominik Mysterio then ran to the ring with a steel chair to clear out the attackers and save Americano.

Dominik subsequently challenged any two members of the faction to a tag team match against himself and Americano at Verano de Escandalo.
