AEW is to celebrate 80 years of the Rougeau wrestling family dynasty during its Redemption pre-show in Montreal.

The promotion announced the tribute on social media following Saturday’s edition of Collision. It will take place during the Buy In on Sunday, July 26, beginning at 6 pm ET at the Bell Centre.

Jacques Rougeau Jr. spoke about the plans in a July 8 YouTube interview with Bill Apter. He said AEW Vice President QT Marshall contacted him about recognizing four generations of the family.

QT [Marshall] called me up and he asked me if Raymond and I would like to go to the Bell Centre — to where the Montreal Canadiens play. And he said they would like to honor the Rougeau family, the four generations.

They’re going to introduce me and Raymond to our Montreal fans. I’ve had a few sleepless nights lately because I’m so excited.

AEW has not announced further details about the presentation. Its promotional post describes the segment as a celebration of “one of the most prolific wrestling families in the history of Montreal.”

The wider Rougeau family’s involvement in wrestling reaches back to Eddie Auger, who competed during the 1940s. His nephews Jacques Rougeau Sr. and Johnny Rougeau began teaming as the Rougeau Brothers, emerging as major figures in Quebec wrestling.

Jacques Jr. and Raymond Rougeau carried the name into the World Wrestling Federation after joining the company in 1985. The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers worked with teams including the British Bulldogs, Hart Foundation and Rockers before Raymond retired from the ring.

Jacques later became Intercontinental Champion while performing as The Mountie.
