United States Champion Trick Williams will face AAA’s Laredo Kid during the Countdown to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
WWE announced the match through its social media accounts on Saturday, hours before the event at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The United States Championship has not been advertised as being on the line.

Williams last competed on WWE programming against Carmelo Hayes on the July 10 edition of SmackDown. The match ended without a winner after the returning Baron Corbin attacked both wrestlers.
He subsequently faced Hayes at WWE live events in New Mexico last weekend.
Laredo Kid is a longtime AAA wrestler who has also made appearances for TNA Wrestling. His most recent match took place at AAA’s June 20 event in Mérida, Yucatán.
The Countdown begins at 7:30 pm ET and will stream through WWE.com, ESPN and WWE’s social platforms, including YouTube and TikTok.
Saturday Night’s Main Event follows at 8 pm ET on Peacock in the United States and Netflix internationally.
