Santos Escobar has shed his WWE identity and revealed the new name he will be going by.

Escobar (Jorge Luis Alcantar Bolly) was among many WWE releases three months ago, and his 90-day no-compete clause just expired.

Escobar has updated his X account using the name “Romeo Malverde” and included the caption, “Farewell, Emperor Santos. WELCOME, ROMEO MALVERDE”.

It’s a fresh identity for the wrestler, who wrestled as El Hijo del Fantasma and King Cuerno before joining WWE in 2019.

Among the names becoming free agents this week are Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Kairi Sane, Bo Dallas, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Motor City Machine Guns, and Zoey Stark.
