DDT crowned a new KO-D Openweight Champion at its biggest event of the year on Tuesday.
The annual Peter Pan show aired from Ryogoku Kokugikan (Sumo Hall), featuring MAO becoming KO-D Openweight Champion and making an immediate title defense.
The main event of the card saw MAO defeat Yuki Ueno with a cannonball 450 splash after nearly thirty-four minutes. The new champion immediately defended it against owner Sanshiro Takagi, retaining the title after an inside cradle in less than five minutes. Takagi wrestled earlier in the show with Minoru Suzki, beating Kazuki Hirata & To-y in a ten-minute tag match.
MAO, 29, won the championship for the first time and ended Ueno’s third reign after ten months.

All key championships changed hands as New Japan’s Ryusuke Taguchi beat Kazuma Sumi for the DDT Universal title, Shinya Aoki & Junta Miywaki won the KO-D tag titles from Chris Brookes & HARASHIMA, Shunma Katsumata beat Hideki Okatani for the DDT Extreme title in a Barbed-Wire Death Match, Kazuki Hirata left the with the Iron Man Heavy Metal title, and the six-man unit of KANON, Yukio Naya & Viento Levante won the six-man belts from Takeshi Masada, Daichi Sato & Takeshi Masada.
AEW’s Konosuke Takeshita, who is under contract to New Japan & DDT, defeated Kaisei Takechi with Raging Fire as Takeshita resumes the G1 Climax on Wednesday with a match against Ryohei Oiwa.
Jun Kasai teamed with his son Hinata in the latter’s debut match, losing to Jun Akiyama & Rukiya.
