Trios title gold will be on the line this weekend.
Brodido & Hangman Adam Page will defend the AEW World Trios Championships as part of Saturday’s edition of Collision, it was announced on Wednesday. The show, which is being taped this evening in Las Vegas, is up to six segments in total.
Following a heated segment involving The Demand and Swerve Strickland on Wednesday, it was decided that Brodido and Page will defend against The Lethal Twist. The team of Jay Lethal, Blake Christian and Lee Johnson, who just recently joined forces with Ricochet’s The Demand, will be trying for their first AEW trios title run in the match.
Along with the trios title bout, it was announced that Mercedes Moné will appear on Saturday night against up-and-comer Zayda Steel. The bout will be a tune-up for Moné, who is scheduled to challenge women’s world champ Willow Nightingale at All In later this month.
It was also revealed that, ahead of their All In showdown against the Brawling Birds, AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion will be in action.
It was previously revealed that the opening round of AEW’s ongoing Continental Challenge Cup will wrap up as part of this weekend’s Collision. Among the three matchups set for the show is Nigel McGuinness returning to the ring against Katsuyori Shibata.
