AAA 9/5 Results: La Parka title defense added to TripleMania, War Raiders issue open challenge

AAA added another championship match to TripleMania 34 during Saturday’s go-home episode, while the War Raiders issued an open challenge for the event.

AAA Latin American Champion La Parka will defend against Laredo Kid and Mr. Iguana in a three-way on Night 1 in Las Vegas.

The September 5 episode also featured victories for La Parka, El Fiscal & Mr. Iguana, and La Catalina, along with final promotion for both nights of TripleMania.

La Parka, El Fiscal & Mr. Iguana vs. Histeria, Taurus & Dinámico

La Parka and Histeria began the opening trios match before Taurus entered to face the Latin American Champion.

Los Vipers and Dinámico later isolated El Fiscal and worked on his leg. Fiscal eventually escaped and reached Mr. Iguana, before La Parka entered and cleared the ring.

All six competitors eventually spilled outside, where La Parka launched himself onto the group.

Back inside, La Parka hit Histeria with a rolling cutter followed by the Bonebreaker to secure the victory.

La Catalina promises to win Reina de Reinas Championship

La Catalina spoke about her upcoming challenge for Flammer’s AAA Reina de Reinas Championship on Night 2 of TripleMania.

Catalina said she had wanted to hold the championship since she was a child in Chile and questioned whether Flammer could defeat her without assistance from Las Tóxicas.

Rey Mysterio discusses AAA trios division

AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio appeared in a segment looking at the history of trios wrestling in the promotion.

Mysterio noted the lengthy reign of AAA World Trios Champions Psycho Circus and confirmed their request to defend against Los Perros del Mal at TripleMania.

Dave the Clown, Murder Clown & Panic Clown will put the titles on the line against Daga, Berto & Angel on Night 1 in Las Vegas.

El Grande Americano honors Pimpinela Escarlata

El Grande Americano introduced Pimpinela Escarlata in front of the Torreón crowd.

Pimpinela thanked fans for supporting him over a 40-year career before Americano embraced and kissed him on the cheek.

  • Americano subsequently spoke in a video package about challenging Dominik Mysterio for the AAA Mega Championship on Night 2. He said winning the championship would represent Mexico and the history, culture and legacy of lucha libre.

La Parka to defend against Laredo Kid and Mr. Iguana

Mr. Iguana approached Rey Mysterio backstage and asked for a championship opportunity, pointing to his recent run of success.

Mysterio proposed a three-way match involving Iguana, Laredo Kid and Latin American Champion La Parka.

Iguana accepted before La Parka entered and told him the two needed to talk.

The championship match was subsequently confirmed for Night 1 of TripleMania on September 11 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

War Raiders issue TripleMania open challenge

AAA World Tag Team Champions The War Raiders said they did not believe any team could end their reign. Erik and Ivar then issued an open challenge to any team willing to face them at TripleMania.

No specific night was announced for the proposed title defense.

La Catalina vs. Adelicious

Flammer joined Spanish commentary to watch her TripleMania challenger face Adelicious in the main event.

Catalina took control late with a missile dropkick and hip attacks before hitting a spinning slam for the pin.

Afterward, she invited Flammer into the ring. The champion climbed the steps and began to enter before backing away, leaving Catalina calling after her from inside the ring.
