AEW will honor former tag division wrestler Andy “The Butcher” Williams on Saturday night.
It was revealed on Wednesday evening’s AEW broadcast that this weekend’s episode of Collision will feature a tribute to Williams, who passed away last weekend at the age of 48.
Williams was one half of The Butcher and The Blade, a tag duo who wrestled in AEW from 2020 to 2025. They notably debuted by attacking Cody Rhodes, emerging from under the ring to take him down over half a decade ago.
The Buffalo-raised Williams star wrestled nearly 150 times for AEW, including a series of pay-per-view appearances. He made a major return to the independent scene this year, shortly after parting ways with AEW.
Williams passed away last weekend after collapsing at a local independent wrestling event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tributes and kind words regarding Williams have poured out from the wrestling and music worlds ever since.
A Celebration of Life for Williams is also planned to take place on September 27 at the Buffalo Riverworks. Attendees are asked to register ahead of time at AndyWilliamsForever.com.
