Andrade El Idolo retained the AEW National Championship against PAC in the opening match of Saturday’s All Out pay-per-view.
The two met in singles competition for the first time in five years, with Marina Shafir accompanying PAC at ringside.
PAC struck first with a German suplex, but Andrade responded almost immediately with Dia de los Muertos for an early near fall.
Shafir became involved after PAC distracted referee Aubrey Edwards, attacking Andrade at ringside and raking his eyes. Andrade later avoided another charge from Shafir, sending her over the barricade into the front row.
Back inside, Andrade landed a moonsault and later completed the Three Amigos before connecting with a tornillo to the floor.
The champion briefly stopped to take a selfie with a “fan” at ringside, only for Shafir to appear behind her and grab the fan. The distraction allowed PAC to attack Andrade and regain control.
All she wanted was a picture with Andrade, not an attack from @MarinaShafir!

PAC hit a 450 splash for two before the pair fought on the top rope. Andrade managed to land Dia de los Muertos again, although PAC rolled to the floor before a cover could be made.
Both men narrowly beat the referee’s count after PAC sent Andrade into the barricade.
PAC then missed the Black Arrow. Andrade attempted to capitalize with the DM, but another distraction from Shafir allowed PAC to hit a poison rana and follow with a running lariat.
The challenger locked in the Brutalizer, only for Andrade to roll backward and trap PAC’s shoulders to the mat for the three-count.
The victory continued Andrade’s reign as National Champion and left him in possession of his contract for a future AEW World Championship match, which can be exercised with seven days’ notice.
