AEW says Steven Borden was conscious and responsive after being taken to a hospital following the stoppage of his match at All Out.

Borden was injured during a tag team match alongside Darby Allin against Kyle Fletcher & Kevin Knight, with the ringside doctor stopping the contest after Borden appeared to strike the back of his head on the mat.

Later in the pay-per-view, at around 9.40 pm ET, Tony Schiavone relayed an update that he said had been passed to him by AEW President Tony Khan.

I know that we are all concerned about the condition of Steven Borden, and Tony Khan is giving me some information I think is very important to give to you.

Steve Borden is conscious. He’s responsive. He’s arrived at the hospital. He’s going to be evaluated.

Schiavone added that Khan had spoken with a member of AEW’s medical team and that the doctor responsible for evaluating Borden had arrived at the hospital.

He said Borden was waiting for the doctor to begin the assessment.

Around 20 minutes later, Schiavone addressed the arena crowd with more details on Borden:

He has been talking to the doctors about the match. Of course, our thoughts are with him. He has had a CAT scan, but the good news once again is he’s responsive, he’s conscious, he’s talking about the match, he’s concerned about what happened.

And of course if we have another update fans, we will give it to you. We are all thinking about Steven Borden right now.

POST Wrestling’s John Pollock confirmed that the doctor stoppage was legitimate and was not part of an angle or storyline.

The match, which was second on the main card, ended after Borden and Knight launched themselves from opposite turnbuckles and collided in midair. Borden appeared to strike the back of his head on the mat upon landing and remained down as AEW physician Dr. Michael Sampson entered the ring.
