Two more title showdowns have been confirmed for NJPW’s next trip to Ryogoku Sumo Hall.
NJPW announced two matchups on Monday, adding to the growing lineup for King of Pro Wrestling on October 12 in Tokyo.
In singles action, IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Gabe Kidd will defend his belt against Shota Umino as part of the show.
Umino confronted Kidd at Sunday’s Destruction in Kobe show shortly after he defended against Drilla Moloney. While Kidd initially planned to not re-appear in NJPW until 2027, a call-out and subsequent brawl with Umino might’ve changed his mind.
Umino will be looking to regain the title in his upcoming rematch against Kidd. He previously lost the belt in July, dropping it as part of a Road to the G1 Climax card in Korakuen Hall.
It was also confirmed on Monday that the United Empire trio of Will Ospreay, Great-O-Khan and HENARE will defend their gold next month.
Ospreay and Co. will put their belts on the line against OSKAR & Yuto-Ice of the Knockout Brothers, along with a yet-to-be-revealed third tag partner.
