Netflix censors 946’s car attack on Jacob Fatu

WWE has been aggressive in pushing 946 as a dangerous heel group, but their actions might be too much for Netflix’s international audience.

This past week’s Raw saw Royce Keys attack Jacob Fatu in the parking garage in a segment that ended with Jaida Parker running over Fatu and joining 946.

However, if you watched the replay of the segment on Netflix, you didn’t see the full beatdown. In the replay, the screen goes black when Keys hits Fatu with the car door, and when Parker runs over Fatu with her car, the screen goes black again until Fatu is lying on the ground.

It’s not the first time a WWE replay was censored, nor is it the first time a 946 segment was censored either, with The Usos’ faces blurred due to blood.

Gabe Spitzer, a Vice President at Netflix, spoke with Richard Deitsch on the Sports Media podcast last month, saying that Netflix does not speak to WWE about the content they air, but did note that Netflix has “ratings standards that anyone has to adhere to.” It is the common belief that Netflix censors blood, cursing and other segments to adhere to certain standards in international markets, despite the lack of censorship on Netflix shows and documentaries.
