Women’s tag gold will be on the line on next week’s episode of Smackdown.
The October 9 episode of Smackdown, a go-home show before Money in the Bank takes place less than 24 hours later, will see Fatal Influence defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley.
The matchup, set to go down at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana, will see Fatal Influence defend their gold for the first time in two months.
They earned the tag belts by dethroning Brie Bella and Paige back in July, and have since turned back the team of Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton on an August edition of Smackdown.
While Flair has lots of history with the tag titles, going on reigns alongside Asuka and Alexa Bliss, the same cannot be said for recent NXT call-up Paxley. If she wins next week, Paxley will begin her first-ever title reign since joining the WWE main roster.
Along with the women’s tag title showdown, it’s being promoted that CM Punk will appear on next week’s show. Punk is one of the six men scheduled to compete in next week’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
