The lineups for this year’s WWE Money in the Bank ladder matches were confirmed on Friday night following the latest episode of Smackdown.
In the main event of tonight’s show, Kevin Owens prevailed in a Triple Threat involving Cody Rhodes and Johnny Gargano to secure a spot in the upcoming ladder match.
Randy Orton appeared late in the bout, showing up with the sole intention of costing Rhodes a win. After Owens scored a pop-up powerbomb to Gargano, Orton pulled Rhodes out of the ring to prevent him from breaking up a follow-up pin attempt, which caused an end to the match.
When he steps into the Smoothie King Center on October 10, Owens will be making his fifth appearance in a Money in the Bank ladder match. He’s coming back to the special stipulation match for the first time in five years.
On the women’s side of the action, Tiffany Stratton won a match also involving Tatum Paxley and Candice LeRae. While Paxley scored a springboard 450 splash onto LeRae, Stratton followed up with a Prettiest Moonsault Ever onto both for the pinfall win.
Stratton will be appearing in her second-ever Money in the Bank ladder match. She’s one-for-one thus far, winning at the 2024 edition of the event.
