Ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 this past April saw a sharp decrease from 2025 as WWE returned to Las Vegas for the second year in a row.

Wrestlenomics obtained information from Pollstar (a trade publication covering the live event business) and notes that the 2026 version of WrestleMania drew $36 million over both nights at Allegiant Stadium on April 18 & 19 this year.

The first night of WrestleMania 42 was headlined by Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton and sold 42,215 tickets and drew $17,441,679 in ticket sales. The second night featured CM Punk against Roman Reigns with 48,158 tickets sold and a gate of $18,558,414.

The 2026 total of 90,373 tickets sold and $36,000,093 in ticket sales are down 20% and 45.5% respectively from the two-night WrestleMania 41 figures in April 2025.

The 2025 two-night special totaled 113,412 tickets sold and ticket sales generating $66,074,558 at the same Allegiant Stadium location in Las Vegas.

This past April, POST Wrestling obtained audio of an internal call hosted by Nick Khan and spoke about WrestleMania’s performance in comparison to the prior year, noting, “That was ultimately my decision. Maybe we don’t do that one again in terms of back-to-back, but ultimately, it ended up being a successful event.”

WWE had previously announced that WrestleMania 2026 would take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, but reversed its decision to move the show back to Las Vegas for a second year in a row. WWE was incentivized with a $6 million site fee by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and qualified for $4.3 million in tax credits, with each representing an increase over the same figures provided in 2025.

Wrestlenomics notes that when accounting for inflation, the second night of WrestleMania 42 would rank as the sixth highest-grossing gate in WrestleMania history and the first night of WrestleMania 42 would rank ninth. The list is led by the two nights of WrestleMania 41 in 2025.

The 2027 version of WrestleMania is scheduled for April 2027 in Saudi Arabia.
