Two matches have been confirmed for CMLL and NJPW’s co-promoted Lucha Kingdom event taking place next month.
In a non-title showdown, CMLL World Heavyweight Champion Hechicero will face off against ex-IWGP Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. The singles showdown will take place as part of a November 16 card from Arena Mexico in Mexico City.
The bout was confirmed during this week’s episode of CMLL Informa.
Sabre Jr. and Hechicero have crossed paths many times in recent weeks. At CMLL’s 93rd Anniversary card last month, Hechicero retained his World Heavyweight Championship in a three-way involving Sabre Jr. and AEW’s Claudio Castagnoli.
Hechicero and Sabre Jr. met during three matches on NJPW’s King of Pro Wrestling tour earlier this month, including a tag match inside Ryogoku Kokugikan on Monday night.
It was also announced on Wednesday night that CMLL’s Kira will challenge STARDOM’s Syuri for the IWGP Women’s Championship as part of the upcoming event. While Syuri has defended her title five times since October 2025, including wins over Saya Kamitani and Athena, she has yet to face a CMLL talent with the belt on the line.
