It’s a quiet weekend from WWE and AEW, but elsewhere there’s lots to discuss. In Japan, NOAH and MARIGOLD will present some of their top shows of the year while NJPW begins its next tournament. Over in Mexico, CMLL will host a massive women’s Cibernetico, and AAA will kick off a three-week special. And in America, along with some major TV tapings, we have a fun drive-in style thriller to discuss. Here’s a preview of all the notable wrestling events worth checking out over the next three days!
Friday
WWE Friday Night Smackdown / 8 p.m. ET / USA Network
The Toyota Arena in Ontario, California will play host to tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown. It’s scheduled to be a busy night in the women’s division: Chelsea Green will defend her women’s title for the first time, looking to beat Monday Night Raw’s Roxanne Perez and keep her spot on the upcoming Crown Jewel card. The newly-crowned women’s tag champs, Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley, will face off against Jade Cargill’s B-Fab and Michin. Plus, the feud between Giulia and Blake Monroe will escalate with a street fight.
Along with the women’s action, we’re expected to see the Bakusai duo of Kyoki and Shinsuke Nakamura back on TV, meeting the MFTs for a non-title showdown.
- Giulia vs. Blake Monroe
- Tama Tonga & Talla Tonga vs. Shinsuke Nakamura & Kyoki
- Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs. Michin & B-Fab (WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships)
- Chelsea Green vs. Roxanne Perez (WWE Women’s Championship)
CMLL International Women’s Grand Prix / 10:30 p.m. ET / Youtube or MyAEW PPV
Women from lucha and beyond will be showcased tonight in Arena Mexico. CMLL’s annual International Women’s Grand Prix will take place this evening in Mexico City, a huge main event matchup featuring 22 talents.
The special Team CMLL vs. Team World match, a marathon-style Cibernetico which usually nears feature-film length, sees teams face off in an elimination ruleset. Once one team is left, the remaining wrestlers on that team continue to battle in an elimination match until just one wrestler is left.
CMLL will face a lineup including representation from AEW, STARDOM, MLW, RevPro, and Maple Leaf Pro. Will Persephone be able to win the GP for a second year in a row? Or is it time for a new name to emerge on top?
- Volcano & Dulce Gardenia vs. Estudiante Jr. & Robin
- Star Jr. vs. Yutani
- Mascara Dorada, Brillante Jr. & Rey Pegasus vs. Soberano Jr., Calavera Jr. I & Calavera Jr. II

Saturday
MARIGOLD Grand Destiny / 1 a.m. ET / Wrestle Universe PPV
MARIGOLD is going live early tomorrow morning with their second-ever Grand Destiny card. Live from the Ryogoku Kokugikan sumo hall in Tokyo, Japan, the pay-per-view broadcast is the brand’s biggest show of the year.
Last year’s Grand Destiny included huge title wins for Victoria Yuzuki and Miku Aono, as well as a showcase main event between WWE’s IYO SKY and Mayu Iwatani. This is to say, the first edition of the show set quite a high standard for its sequel.
Tomorrow’s show, admittedly, is not as strong as the 2025 lineup. But, there are bits and pieces of it that are notable. The main event sees the company’s three biggest stars face off in a triple-title (yes, you read that right) showdown. Mayu Iwatani, the veteran name who helped add legitimacy to MARIGOLD when she made the jump from STARDOM, will put her Super Flyweight Championship on the line. Miku Aono, the woman who has established herself as MARIGOLD’s ace, will wager the brand’s world title. And Victoria Yuzuki, a 21-year-old who won this year’s Dream Star Grand Prix and looks to be the company’s future top star, will put her United National title on the line.
Lower on the card, former TJPW name Hikari Noa will make her MARIGOLD debut when she challenges for the brand’s tag titles alongside Unagi Sayaka. Also, two up-and-comers in the company, Seri Yamaoka and Kizuna Tanaka, will have their return matches on the undercard. They’re both coming back after spending most of 2026 on the sidelines.
- Suzuka vs. The Lady AI
- Kizuna Tanaka vs. Shinno
- Seri Yamaoka & Yuuka Yamazaki vs. Komomo Minami & Nagisa Tachibana
- Megaton vs. Yoshino Chitose
- Mai Sakurai, Natsumi Showzuki & Erina Yamanaka vs. Chanyota, Diana Strong & Mila Smidt
- Misa Matsui, CHIAKI & Rea Seto vs. Shoko Koshino, Hummingbird & Nanase
- Kouki Amarei & Chika Goto vs. Unagi Sayaka & Hikari Noa (MARIGOLD Twin Star Championships)
- Miku Aono vs. Mayu Iwatani vs. Victoria Yuzuki (MARIGOLD World, United National & Super Flyweight Championships) (Elimination Three-Way)
NJPW Super Jr. Tag League Night 1 / 4 a.m. ET / NJPW World
NJPW will return this weekend, kicking off an eight-show tour as part of the annual Super Jr. Tag League tournament. The promotion is starting the tour with four nights in a row of action, including Saturday and Sunday.
While the tournament suffered a huge blow earlier this week with the departure of El Desperado, one-half of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions alongside Mistico, there are still a few fun teams to watch in this one.
The TMDK duo of Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles, two of the more exciting junior heavyweights in the division, will be in action. AEW will be represented, as The Swirl will compete as a duo and Nick Wayne will return to NJPW and work alongside KUSHIDA. Plus, short-notice Desperado fill-in Masatora Yasuda, an NJPW Young Lion, will get a huge early career opportunity, teaming with Lucha star Mistico this weekend. As much as I’ll miss seeing Desperado on the tour, I’m interested to see what Yasuda can do in the big spot.
- Jakob Austin Young & Francesco Akira vs. Dick Togo & SHO (B Block)
- Nick Wayne & KUSHIDA vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru & DOUKI (A Block)
- Daiki Nagai & Titan vs. Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles (B Block)
- Kazuma Sumi & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori (A Block)
- Hyo & YOH vs. Lee Johnson & Blake Christian (B Block)
- Masatora Yasuda & Mistico vs. Kuukai & Master Wato (A Block)
AEW Collision / 8 p.m. ET / TNT
Back in its normal timeslot, AEW’s Collision will go live tomorrow night from the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. While we don’t know too much about tomorrow’s lineup just yet, it was announced that the Motor City Machine Guns and FTR will face off in match 2 of their best of 7, and a fired-up Swerve Strickland is scheduled to face Myron Reed of The Rascalz.
- Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler vs. Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin (Match 2 in Best of 7)
- Swerve Strickland vs. Myron Reed
AAA Heroes Immortales Week 1 / 10 p.m. ET / Youtube
AAA’s three-week Heroes Immortales TV special will begin this Saturday with a live one-hour episode from Mexico City. The first week is by far the biggest for the special, as, in a rematch from this year’s TripleMania card, AAA Mega Champion El Grande Americano will try and turn back ex-champ Dominik Mysterio. If the rematch is anything like their first meeting, that could be a hectic and wild (and arguably overbooked?) epic. La Catalina will also try to defend her women’s title in a three-way, and Los Perros del Mal will put their trios titles up. A solid one hour of lucha to close out Saturday night!
- Angel, Berto & Daga vs. La Parka, Mr. Iguana & Nino Hamburguesa (AAA World Trios Championships)
- La Catalina vs. La Hiedra vs. Flammer (AAA Reina de Reinas Championship)
- El Grande Americano vs. Dominik Mysterio (AAA Mega Championship)
Sunday
NOAH Wrestle Odyssey II / 1:30 a.m. ET / Wrestle Universe
Just one night after MARIGOLD heads to Ryogoku, Pro Wrestling NOAH will also visit the Tokyo venue this weekend for one of their biggest events of the year, Wrestle Odyssey II.
The main event of the night will see N-1 Victory winner OZAWA cash in his GHC Heavyweight Championship opportunity, facing off against the defending Tetsuya Naito. Will this be a disaster, as Naito is severely limited in 2026? Or will it surprisingly be a masterpiece, like Naito’s title win over Shane Haste ended up being? I honestly don’t know what to expect from this main event.
The co-main event will see Dragon Bane look to regain the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship, facing off against Team 2000X’s Kai Fujimura. Some might be intrigued to see the three-way tag title showdown, which has the Good Brothers as well as TMDK’s Shane Haste and the returning Mikey Nicholls challenging the heavy-hitting, fun duo of Manabu Soya and Yuki Iino.
- Atsushi Kotoge & Hi69 vs. Hiroto Tsuruya & Hiroya Namiki
- YO-HEY & Jun Masaoka vs. Alejandro & Daiki Odashima (GCW Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships)
- Tetsuya Endo & Yuto Koyanagi vs. BUSHI & RYUSEI vs. Alpha Wolf & Tadasuke vs. Kazuyuki Fujita & Black Mensore
- KENTA & Maybach Taniguchi vs. Masa Kitamiya & Takashi Sugiura
- HAYATA vs. Shuji Kondo (GHC200 Championship)
- Kaito Kiyomiya & Yoshiki Inamura vs. Kenoh & Kouga
- Naomichi Marufuji vs. Luis Mante (GHC National Championship)
- Manabu Soya & Yuki Iino vs. Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls vs. Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows (GHC Tag Team Championships)
- Kai Fujimura vs. Dragon Bane (GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship)
- Tetsuya Naito vs. OZAWA (GHC Heavyweight Championship)
NJPW Super Jr. Tag League Night 2 / 5:30 a.m. ET / NJPW World
NJPW will travel over to Korakuen Hall on Sunday for the second night of Super Jr. Tag League block action. Here’s a look at the card, including what could be a fun main event between TMDK and The Swirl:

- Kazuma Sumi & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Kuukai & Master Wato (A Block)
- Daiki Nagai & Titan vs. Jakob Austin Young & Francesco Akira (B Block)

- Hyo & YOH vs. Dick Togo & SHO (B Block)
- Masatora Yasuda & Mistico vs. Nick Wayne & KUSHIDA (A Block)
- Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles vs. Lee Johnson & Blake Christian (B Block)
GCW: Shotzi Blackheart’s Drive-In From Hell / 4 p.m. ET / TrillerTV+
“Shotzi Blackheart’s Drive-In From Hell” is more than just an event title this weekend. GCW are pulling up to a real drive-in theater this Sunday in Grindstone, Pennsylvania, for a special Halloween-themed card on Sunday afternoon.
After a night of action which will feature matchups like Lio Rush and Shotzi Blackheart vs. Janelasus plus Bustah & The Brain vs. ex-CHIKARA duo Legion of Rot, live attendees will get to enjoy a screening of Pumpkinhead (1988), then Return of the Living Dead (1985). Sadly, a subscription to TrillerTV+ will only get you access to the wrestling part of the night out. But, if you’re interested in some early-evening action to close out the weekend, give this one a shot!

- Alec Price & Jordan Oliver vs. Frightmare & Hallowicked
