A World X-Cup Tournament and two Ultimate X matches are among the additions to TNA’s Destination X event next month.
On Thursday’s edition of Impact, TNA revealed that the World X-Cup would take place at the November 15 event and feature eight wrestlers from various countries. The eight will be divided into pairs for fatal four-way matches, with the two winners meeting later in the night.
The X Cup concept has appeared in various forms since 2003, when it debuted as the Super X Cup and was won by Chris Sabin. The inaugural World X Cup was held the following year with a Team U.S. vs. Team Canada theme, with follow-ups in 2006 and 2008.
Two Ultimate X matches will take place at Destination X. The men’s match will determine the next contender for the X Division championship held by Amazing Red. The Knockouts’ version will determine the next contender for the Knockouts Championship belonging to Indi Hartwell.
