AEW will kick off 2027 with New Year’s Smash over two nights in Georgia.

The promotion announced on Friday that New Year’s Smash will occur on January 1 & 2 at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia.

New Year’s Day lands on a Friday and will see AEW tape an edition of Dynamite followed by a Collision taping the next day.

With AEW taping its television, it would allow for any AEW talent traveling to Japan for Wrestle Kingdom 21 on Monday, January 4. Based on recent angles, it would appear several AEW talents would be booked for Wrestle Kingdom, with teases of Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, MJF, Jon Moxley, and Adam Copeland among them.

AEW wraps up its year on December 23 with the Holiday Bash editions of Dynamite and Collision, followed by a nine-day break before the tapings in Georgia.
