Dustin Rhodes is penning a second biography, citing restrictions in his last offering.

When asked on X about the idea of writing a book, the AEW performer responded, “I am in the middle of writing my second book. This one will be way more in depth over my whole career, ups and down. Back to glory and doing it my way. My hands were tied with the other company.”

In 2010, Rhodes and co-author Mark Vancil released Cross Rhodes: Goldust, Out of Darkness through Gallery Books.

Rhodes’ career goes back to 1988 and has worked for every North American company, including many stints with WWF since 1990. After his firing by WCW in 1995, he was hired by the WWF and became Goldust, the character he’s been most closely connected to throughout his career.

As the character, he worked with the WWE across multiple stints until 2019, when his contract expired, and he signed with AEW, where he continues to wrestle and work as a producer.

Rhodes has been inactive since July 2025, when he dropped the TNT title to Kyle Fletcher and attacked after the match to send him away for double knee surgery.

At 57, the performer says he is close to making a comeback, writing this past July, “Very soon, I will be back for my ‘One Last Ride’, which has gone for 7 yrs lol.”
