Weekend TV Guide: WWE presents Crown Jewel, AEW boards the Jericho Cruise & more

The weekend has arrived and, as usual, is jam-packed with wrestling action. We’ve picked out nine options for you to consider as part of your graps diet this weekend, plus details on where and when to catch it all. Let’s get started.

Friday

WWE Friday Night Smackdown / 8 p.m. ET / USA Network

Before WWE presents Crown Jewel tomorrow from Riyadh, a taped edition of Friday Night Smackdown will air this evening. Tonight’s show is centred around a No Holds Barred match between CM Punk and Kevin Owens, which has been brewing for weeks. This feud has been built like a Premium Live Event (PLE) type matchup, and I have a feeling it could be of the PLE quality too. What will the blood feud between Punk and Owens deliver under No Holds Barred rules? We’ll find out tonight.

  • CM Punk vs. Kevin Owens (No Holds Barred)

Saturday

WWE Crown Jewel / 12 p.m. ET / ESPN Unlimited

There have been weeks of questioning and debate regarding whether WWE should head to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a PLE. Due to a series of attacks on the country from the Iran-backed Houthis as of late, including a strike on the Riyadh International Airport last month which left over 300 injured and 13 killed, many argued that the show should be postponed or moved to a different location.

But, WWE stuck to their guns and, despite the uncertainty and criticism surrounding the event, will be going forward with the show tomorrow night. The decision to host the show itself, which has caused some of the strongest and possibly most critical discourse around the company as of late, will likely be a larger discussion coming out of this weekend than the actual matches on it.

But this is a TV guide, so here’s a quick rundown of the matches: In a feud where Sami Zayn has made a compelling case as an overlooked underdog, the top Smackdown men’s star will try to pull off a singles win against Roman Reigns for this year’s Crown Jewel title. On the women’s side, Chelsea Green will try to humble the Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan.

Lower on the card, Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will settle their beef in a Last Man Standing match, and the makeshift team of Je’Von Evans and Penta will try to take tag gold off The Vision. On paper, this is not a very consequential WWE PLE. The two top matches are champion-versus-champion bragging rights-type clashes, and the two lower matches on the show are midcard feuds. But, it’s not a weak card by any stretch either.

  • Austin Theory & Bron Breakker vs. Je’Von Evans & Penta (WWE World Tag Team Championships)
  • Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes (Last Man Standing)
  • Chelsea Green vs. Liv Morgan (Women’s Crown Jewel Championship)
  • Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns (Men’s Crown Jewel Championship)

AEW Collision / 8 p.m. ET / TNT

For just the second time ever, AEW cameras will hop aboard Chris Jericho’s Rock N’ Wrestling Rager Cruise to present a wrestling broadcast. Tomorrow’s Collision will be live from a ship!

I’m most looking forward to Andrade El Idolo and Tommaso Ciampa, arguably two of the bigger midcard workrate names in the company this year, squaring off. The electric FTR vs. MCMG feud will continue, plus we’re expecting an appearance from Nick Wayne, who is just a week into his new looksmaxxing, Kick-streaming, “mogging” persona, which has been stellar.

  • Nick Wayne to appear, promises to “Mog” Chris Jericho
  • Jericho vs. Blake Christian
  • Persephone vs. Mina Shirakawa
  • Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood vs. Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin (Match 4 in Best of 5 Series)
  • Andrade El Idolo vs. Tommaso Ciampa (AEW National Championship)

MLW Saturday Night Superfight / 8 p.m. ET / VEEPS PPV

MLW is scheduled to go live via pay-per-view on VEEPS for the first time ever tomorrow night, presenting Saturday Night SuperFight from the Cicero Stadium in Cicero, Illinois. The event will be headlined by a world title showdown between Killer Kross and Josh Bishop, an intense rivalry which has included numerous brawls on recent episodes of Fusion. Earlier on the card, The Good Brothers will face Mark Coffey and Wolfgang, looking to get revenge after the Glasgow faction attacked Doc’s son, CJ Gallows, weeks ago. The show is also expected to feature Yota Tsuji in his first-ever non-NJPW U.S. date, facing Trevor Lee. I have a feeling that one could steal the show.

  • Tessa Blanchard vs. Keyra
  • Yota Tsuji vs. Trevor Lee
  • Zamaya vs. Masha Slamovich
  • Austin Aries vs. Matt Riddle (MLW National Openweight Championship)
  • Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. Mark Coffey & Wolfgang
  • Killer Kross vs. Josh Bishop (MLW World Heavyweight Championship) (Last Man Standing)

TJPW All Rise ’26 / 9 p.m. ET / Wrestle Universe

Tokyo Joshi Pro will be live with a Sunday afternoon (Saturday evening for viewers in America) Korakuen Hall card. The main attraction will be Shoko Nakajima looking to begin her first Princess of Princess title reign since 2022, facing defending champ Yuki Aino. It’s been a dominant 222-day run for Aino, and a win this weekend would be her sixth time successfully retaining the belt.

TJPW will notably add to its roster earlier in the night, as newcomers Yui Musubi and Shiori Futaba will make their in-ring debuts as part of undercard tags.

  • Ren Konatsu vs. Momo Sato (Next Generation Tournament)
  • Toga & Yui Musubi vs. Shion Kanzaki & Chieri Sakimori
  • Hyper Misao & Shino Suzuki vs. Mahiro Kiryo & Kira Summer
  • Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe & Shiori Futaba vs. Mizuki, Wakana Uehara & Mifu Ashida
  • Yuki Kamifuku & Nagisa Nozaki vs. Arisu Endo & Chika Nanase
  • Suzume vs. Uta Takami (TJPW International Princess Championship)
  • Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro vs. Raku & Pom Harajuku (TJPW Princess Tag Team Championships)
  • Yuki Aino vs. Shoko Nakajima (TJPW Princess of Princess Championship)

Goddesses of STARDOM Tag League Night 3 / 11 p.m. ET / STARDOM World

If you want a little extra Joshi wrestling after TJPW wraps up, STARDOM will be presenting the third night of their ongoing tag league. We’re still in the early stages of the tour, which is running until the end of November. Here are the matchups they’re promoting for Sunday:

  • Yuna Mizumori & Anne Kanaya vs. Starlight Kid & Maki Itoh (Red League)
  • Hanan & Waka Tsukiyama vs. Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara (Red League)
  • Kikyo Furusawa & Kiyoka Kotatsu vs. Saori Anou & Fuwa-chan (Red League)
  • Saya Iida & Utami Hayashishita vs. Ranna Yagami & Akira Kurogane (Blue League)
  • Hina & Lady C vs. Hazuki & Koguma (Blue League)
  • Dark Silueta & Valkyria vs. Konami & Rina (Blue League)

Three more options for you:

  • Bandido will return to CMLL tonight, teaming with Titan and Neon of El Sky Team to face Soberano Jr., Averno, and Barbaro Cavernario in the main event of a card from Arena Mexico. This show is, as usual, available to top-tier subscribers on CMLL’s Youtube page. But, it’s worth noting that the card will also be streaming to subscribers of MyAEW, without an added pay-per-view subscription needed! (Youtube or MyAEW)
  • The third and final week of AAA’s Heroes Inmortales TV special will air on Saturday night. The card will feature a special singles attraction between El Fiscal and Abismo Negro Jr., as well as a three-way showdown between Bravo Americano, Cruz Del Toro and Kento (Youtube).
  • GCW will return this weekend with a double-header of events, heading to Illinois on Friday, then Indianapolis this Saturday. The second night will see Joseph Sawyer come back to GCW for the first time since his infamous injury scare back in September, and he’s putting his title on the line against ex-champ Atticus Cogar. “If Sawyer wins, he leaves GCW forever with title,” a tagline for the match reads on social media.
