Chuck Williams, who wrestled as the Rockin’ Rebel, and his wife Stephanie Burtnett are believed to be dead following an alleged murder-suicide in the couple’s home on Friday.

Early Friday morning, the West Goshen Township Police Department were dispatched to a home with a male and female declared dead.

A statement was released by the police where they cited what appears to be a shooting-related murder-suicide. There were no outstanding suspects and no danger to the public. The bodies were discovered by family members and the police were called.

The West Goshen Township Criminal Investigations Unit will be investigating the incident to determine what led to the deaths.

Williams broke into the industry in 1988 after being trained by Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson, and hence the name he opted to use throughout his career.

Williams worked for Joel Goodhardt in the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance, becoming the promotion’s first champion. After the company folded, he would resurface with the remnants forming Eastern Championship Wrestling and later Extreme Championship Wrestling. He remained with ECW until 1995, where he challenged for the Television title on several occasions when Mikey Whipwreck and Jason were champions. He also teamed with Pitbull #1 in a Double Dog Collar Match against Tommy Dreamer and Tommy Cairo at “The Night Line Was Crossed” in Feb. 1994.

Williams would work throughout the Northeast independent scene throughout his career after leaving ECW, with CZW, Jersey All Pro Wrestling, PWF, PWU and 3PW among the places he worked. He formed a team with Greg Matthews, who competed on Tough Enough, and they teamed together for years.
