JBL confirmed for WWE Hall Of Fame class of 2020

John Layfield is joining the n.W.o., The Bella Twins and Batista as a member of the WWE Hall Of Fame class of 2020.

The 2020 WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 2nd at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. “The Animal” Batista, the n.W.o. (Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman & Hulk Hogan) and The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie) are set to be inducted. It was promoted over the last several days that a new inductee into this year’s Hall Of Fame was going to be revealed on WWE Backstage on FS1 and now joining the aforementioned names is former WWE Champion JBL.

John Layfield began his career in the WWF/WWE in the mid-90s. After a few years in the company, he formed a duo with fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Ron Simmons and they captured the WWF Tag Team Championships on three separate occasions together. In 2004, Layfield debuted the “JBL” character and embarked on a run as WWE Champion shortly after.

His last match as a full-time competitor took place at WrestleMania 25 where he fell in defeat to Rey Mysterio but he made a return in 2014 for the Royal Rumble match. Layfield worked as a commentator on RAW and SmackDown for a number of years.

During his appearance on WWE Backstage, Layfield stated that it was Vince McMahon who informed him of his induction and after two decades as a part of the sports-entertainment company, he’s now going into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
