Jeff Hardy announces that he’s cleared to return to the ring

Jeff Hardy is cleared to return to the ring. Hardy also addressed his out-of-the-ring issues and Matt Hardy's WWE contract expiring.

Former 3-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy appeared on the March 3rd edition of WWE Backstage on FS1 and did a sit-down interview with Renee Young. Hardy revealed that he has been cleared to return to in-ring competition and he’s just awaiting the right creative spot to be inserted into so he can make his return to TV. He added that he has been backstage at the past two SmackDown shows.

Hardy was open about his out-of-the-ring issues regarding his DUI arrest in the Fall of 2019. Hardy stated that he checked himself into rehab shortly after that incident. PWInsider reported several weeks back that Jeff Hardy was present at the WWE Performance Center to train. It is coming up on a full year since Jeff last wrestled after suffering a leg injury.

Matt Hardy’s contract with WWE expired on March 2nd and WWE publicly acknowledged that and wished Matt well on his future endeavors. Renee Young asked Jeff for his thoughts about Matt deciding not to re-sign with WWE and he said that he has not spoken to Matt about that specifically but he thinks it’s cool that The Hardys can be in two separate places and do their own thing.
