During Wednesday’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite, the promotion announced that Mike Tyson will in attendance at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

Tyson is being advertised to present the TNT championship belt to the winner of the tournament final between Cody and Lance Archer.

The former heavyweight boxing champion has a long history with professional wrestling. In February 1990, he was scheduled to appear on NBC as a special referee for a WWF title match between Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage but was replaced by Buster Douglas after losing to the underdog at the Tokyo Dome earlier that month.

His largest contribution occurred in 1998 as the special enforcer referee for the Shawn Michaels vs. Steve Austin main event at WrestleMania 14 in Boston, Massachusetts. Tyson’s involvement led to a surge in pay-per-view buys and helped usher in the company’s second boom period during the Attitude Era.

He was inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame in 2012 in Miami and had always stated he was a lifelong fan.

Tyson has caused speculation among observers after posting training videos of himself and recently stating “I’m back”:
