*The Street Profits and Viking Raiders have a decathlon

**They have announced that Bayley & Sasha Banks will defend the women’s tag titles this Sunday at Backlash against Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross and The IIconics.

**WWE was set to hold both Raw and this Friday’s episode of SmackDown today at the Performance Center. They have already taped the Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles match prior to this week and airs on Friday. Dave Meltzer is reporting that the Edge vs. Randy Orton match at Backlash was taped over the weekend.

**New Japan Pro Wrestling will hold a press conference tonight at 11 pm Eastern and will stream on New Japan World. It is expected that this will contain additional information on their plans to resume shows following Bushiroad’s announcement last week.

**On New Day’s latest Feel the Power podcast they spoke with reporter Andreas Hale on the murder of George Floyd, the protests, and all the subjects that everyone is confronting and addressing. The following is how Big E. began the show:

I think, for me, the first thing that came to my mind is that when I saw George Floyd on the ground being murdered. I see myself in George Floyd, when I hear Breonna Taylor’s story I see myself, I see my sisters, I see my aunts, I see us – that could have been us, man, that could have been us. I haven’t been able to get this out of my mind and it’s really weighed heavy on me. It’s been a hard couple of months for so many of us. When Shad (Gaspard) passed, when Hana Kimura passed, I kept thinking, I kept imagining myself in the water for some reason, and I kept putting myself in Shad’s position and I don’t know if he knows his son got to safety, I don’t know what his last thoughts were when he died. With Hana, with the stuff that was going through her mind when she took her life, like, and I just keep putting myself in George Floyd’s position and when I saw him be murdered like that and to have a man put his knee on his neck like that, man and I don’t know how you don’t feel empathy for a man like that, who was accused of passing a counterfeit $20 bill, he didn’t deserve to die like that. We cannot be okay for murdering us, you just can’t be okay with it because it isn’t the first time and it’s not the second time. I’ve seen and hear these stories from my parents and their parents and their parents before them and I cannot accept living in a country where this is acceptable where it takes two days to get an arrest for this man. There was video tape, clear as day, that bothers me, that hurts me to my very core, to my soul that this took two days of anger and frustration and people saying that this has to be enough. How long can we allow this to happen?

From Andreas Hale:

I started the thread ‘When I met racism’ on Twitter because I wanted people to see that we are just like you. We hurt. We are in pain as well. When the house is on fire, guess what? Your house is probably next if you don’t put this one out. Like, you have to help put out our fire and everyone else’s because it’s just not fair. It’s not fair what’s happening.

What can we do? Education is the key because we talk about Black Wall Street or we talk about these situations, but we need to learn about the legal system as well. It’s very key for us to get out there and understand what a second-degree murder charge is or what a first-degree murder charge is, what that entails so we can temper our expectations when these things go to trial. You know, I think it’s like a football team. The protest is the offensive line, which pushes the conversation forward but you need a quarterback, you need an offensive coordinator, you need a head coach, you need people who are judges, you need people who are attorneys, law enforcement that looks like us that police our neighborhoods. You need people that tell our stories. I need you guys out there having a good time showing that we’re different because the only way this is going to change is if it changes on multiple fronts because people say ‘I’m not going to protest it doesn’t change anything’ – no, it kind of just starts the conversation. So, how do we continue that conversation? When you guys use your platform to voice your pain, but E when you use your platform, throwing things about the civil rights era that people just don’t know – I was so surprised at how many white people just didn’t know our history because it’s not really taught in school like that.

**For those that want to learn more about Black Wall Street referenced above, The PWT Cast covered this on their newest show that is out today.

**Edge (Adam Copeland) spoke with Arda Ocal of ESPN about this Sunday’s Backlash match with Randy Orton and the marketing of it as ‘The Greatest Match Ever’. Edge was very frank about his reaction to the tagline and citing Vince McMahon’s promotional decision to build up the match:

Vince is a promoter, and he’s promoting, but it’s like hyperbole. I mean, to me [the greatest match is] not possible. So that takes that pressure out of my mind immediately.

I just laughed because I didn’t think it was serious. Then I realized fairly quickly it was. Then my reaction was, is this wise, because anytime you say something the greatest ever beforehand, you’re setting yourself up for failure. And I don’t ever want to think that way. I need to think the opposite of that. I can’t control the court of public opinion. I need to do and be proud of the work that I put in.

Would I have preferred they not billed it as that? Absolutely. But I also know there are times where heels get dug in the sand and there’s no changing it.

In the interview, he stated the match would not be a choreographed dance with lots of flips but focus on selling and said it may be
“a bit of a learning curve” for the audience.

**Paul Levesque held a post-show call with members of the media after TakeOver: In Your House and below are notes from the call:
*Felt Damian Priest had a “star-making night” with his performance against Finn Balor
*Did not elaborate on Charlotte Flair’s status on NXT after losing the title to Io Shirai in the main event
*They tried to get Michael Hayes to cut his hair and reprise his role at Dok Hendrix and he was “loud” in his refusal at the idea
*They are able to be back in the training environments such as the PC and have been doing a lot of seminars, Zoom calls with the likes of Shawn Michaels and Sara Amato teaching
*Johnny Gargano’s lower back and hips were a bit tight after the match but the doctor didn’t think it was anything serious

**NXT trainee A.J Francis posted the following regarding Paul Levesque’s handling of talent that wanted to discuss Black Lives Matter and wanting to have those conversations:

While somebody out here snitchin to these dirt sheets about everything, somebody need to snitch that @TripleH came & told us all that if we today, tomorrow or ever want to talk to him about our feelings on #BlackLivesMatter he wants to have that convo. And HE DONT HAVE TO DO THAT and he still made sure we knew that we could… that’s an ally.

**A correction from Friday’s update is that last Thursday’s episode of Total Bellas was not the season finale. There will be an eleventh episode this season airing this Thursday on E!

**Here are some DVR numbers for the May 25th episode of Raw on Memorial Day, NXT on May 27th, and AEW Dynamite on the same night:
